I remember driving around in the back of one of those Brats as a kid years ago - back when kids riding in the back of a pickup was legal in CT.

Re: New Timex Marlin Automatic Burgundy
Handsome watch. Too bad about the 8215, tho Sent from my Note8 using Tapatalk I don't own a watch with a 8215,why are you against it? Non-hacking, and often have a little bit of a stutter. The stutter is what kills it for me Sent from my Note8 using Tapatalk That and the one way winding rotor whizz...

I like BOR bracelets and I can see Doxa incorporating that design as one of their brand's signature elements, but this is a bit too much.
As said above, those will just look nasty within a few weeks.

Re: New Tudor - Is This For Real?
If you like this look, alternatively you could simply buy an SKX, replace the dial, bezel insert, and handset, and have a similar looking (arguably better wearing) watch for probably less than $500.
In my opinion, Tudor was correct when they decided not to produce this watch 40 odd years ago.

Re: The First Piece of the Rebuild...JeanRichard Terrascope GMT
I hate to yet again bump a 2 year old post, but I still own my Jean Richard diver and (ironically) it is one of the few watches in my collection my wife actually really likes and wishes I wore more often. If nothing else, it certainly is different than the traditional designs I am commonly drawn to....

That looks great.
As to the speed, I always prefer a bit fast over a bit slow. I hate being late for stuff.
Have fun strap shopping!

Re: these are hideous, but i'm hard pressed to believe
Another thought to add is it seems interesting to me how Rolex appears more focused on aggressively pursuing brand trademark infringement (these modified watches, those companies selling "jubilee" bracelets, etc.) than IP design infringement (for example those knock off Glidelock clasps). It sugges...

It gives you some insight into the management perspectives at Rolex. Innovation isn't the goal. Brand identity is.

Re: these are hideous, but i'm hard pressed to believe "counterfeit"
I just went to the MJJ Exclusives website to see how they market their items. They offer a DLC’d Datejust they call the “Dualtone”. It seems they made 10 of them. In the description of the watch, they state it comes with a “MJJ Made” dial in deep black. It has Rolex branding along with MJJ branding....

Re: Badass shoe/boot link thread
^^^ Those look good. I’d love to hear an update with your thoughts once you’ve worn them in a bit. We got about 14” of snow here last week so it’s been Sorels for me, but the forecast calls for 50°F and rain, so it’ll be puddles and slush next week. These look like comfortable, waterproof, boots mad...

Re: these are hideous, but i'm hard pressed to believe "counterfeit"
It seems to me that they’re treading a thin line. If they’re repainting or replacing dials and putting the Rolex logo on them, there might be a valid argument. Well, in that case other watch “customizers” such as Bamford are equally guilty. As a matter of fact, just looking at Bamford’s site now an...

Re: Coming in 2020. Omega 007 Watch
I keep coming back to the quote Joe mentioned earlier from the Hodinkee article: "the dial and bezel are made from an Omega-specific form of lightweight anodized aluminum and Omega has confirmed that both elements will fade over time" So, the dial and bezel insert are intentionally designed to fade....

I thought she had and international patent on it? Good on her if she has already gotten the patent. I was just being a bit of a wise ass. Weird she would patent a name that was started by someone else It looks like she trademarked "MN" strap. There are a bunch of on-line sellers marketing "Marine N...

Re: Interview with Erika from Erika's Originals
FWIW - the German site I referenced compared Erika's to the Cheapnatostraps version. The German guy felt Erika's were better, but at 5X the cost, they ought to be (that is a quote from the link, not me making an editorial comment). The cheaper versions look to be slightly different with the sliding...

Re: Interview with Erika from Erika's Originals
Sounds good. I’ll keep the CWC on natos, but this might work for the Grand Shogun or U1P? I think either of those would work on this style strap. Here is a pic of the Sinn U1 on Erika's (stolen from Reddit) https://preview.redd.it/m9vhuadimya31.jpg?width=2448&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c576c92e010aeb7...

Re: Interview with Erika from Erika's Originals
I really like her straps and will stay clear of the knock offs as she is the "original" designer for this type of strap. Takes some getting used to on connecting the clasp, but pretty easy once you get the hang. Just super comfortable straps and I always like when you can communicate directly with ...

I really like her straps and will stay clear of the knock offs as she is the "original" designer for this type of strap. Re: Interview with Erika from Erika's Originals
I like that the strap length is specific to your wrist size. Mine was 59€ shipped. The thread pattern that I wanted was discontinued but Erika was nice enough to custom make it for me. You got a good price. Her website has everything at 75 Euro now (plus extra if you'd like some customization).
