My “commuter” is a Jetta TDI. Not electric or hybrid. I still get 40+ MPG and if I remap it could exceed 50. I drive a minimum of a couple hours a day for jobs and find it comfortable and fairly low maintenance. Used initial cost is quite low for a commuter.
