Re: I work in the food industry and I've heard about this

Btw nothing against spurlock as a person or filmmaker, but frankly he isn't someone I aspire to look like in terms of being in shape and having a physique worth working for or avoiding eating as I wish. If it was Dwayne Johnson delivering the message, I would probably pay more attention. Sent from ...

Re: 8500 PO vs 2500 PO...FIGHT!

Honestly I believed all the hype about the 8500 and didn't dig deep enough to know that the 8500 was produced by ETA.. Hell the Sales guy at the AD had no idea when I asked him. I was completely F#cking disappointed when I found out. I felt I was deceived by Omega and I could have bought a Rolex fo...

Re: I work in the food industry and I've heard about this

These sort of buried stories really bother me. Especially the fact that big businesses like McDonalds drive so much of advertising dollars towards major networks, so major networks hush hush any negative news on the businesses.

Re: New car advice

Here is the short scenario; we are looking for another car. The choices are Volvo, Audi, and VW. Since we own two other cars, we are going to lease this one. All three companies have good leae specials right now and we are leaning toward a Passat. Regardless though, I wanted a turbo diesel, however...

I love the teethy bezel. Plenty of coin edge bezels out there. Nice to have an option for something different.

Re: Steven, Come Get Your New Chinese-Owned Saab!

Mitsubishi has really disappeared. The Eclipse and the 3000GT were two of the cool cars to have back in the early 90s Unfortunately since then they have trotted out terrible Galant after terrible Galant for 20 years, dragging their name through the mud. Don't know why they even try here with that s...

Re: Cold Brewed Coffee

So does cold brewed coffee taste entirely different than hot? Do you need some premium beans or do dunkin' suffice? I've used both and there are definitely more subtleties with the cold brewed. +1, it better showcases the flavor of the bean, so a better bean will be really nice. Not sure about chea...

Re: Cold Brewed Coffee

Ok, i must be beyond a noob on this topic. I dont even know how you cold brew, but I'd love to try it. Any recommendations on how to try it out without too many headaches? Some use ball jars, or those large "Sun Tea" containers as you can make it in bulk and it won't go bad. I use a french press. J...

Kind of hard to explain taste in text. Like good/bad whiskey or beer. Cheaper for you to stay oblivious though.

Re: Cold Brewed Coffee

I've cold brewed a few times. Makes great coffee. Lack of heat keeps you from getting all of the bitter tannins and oils from the beans. I've made a few stouts with coffee and you must use cold brewed added after fermentation. Hot brewed is too oily and will damage the head.

I'm not convinced that made in Nepal is better than China. Forget the name and you have a South Asia manufactured boutique diver with a good movement, 5 link bracelet and painted dial. Sounds like a Helson to me other than the upgraded movement.

Re: Ongoing Side Project

I like that very much. I could see it displacing my Filson 252 as my go-to daily bag. One piece of constructive criticism though: the edges look a little under finished compared to something like a SAB, Glaser, or even a Filson. Nonetheless, it's still lovely. I think it will only look better with ...

Re: Reps getting sneakier...

I'll probably get a few shoes thrown at me over this but I'd buy one. I'd rather spend $300-$400 on a rep to see if I liked the watch before dropping $3k-$4k & end up with buyer remorse. I see nothing wrong with wearing a rep for a month, making up your kind on a Gen & then buying the real thing. B...

Land Rover is owned by Tata motors in India and some models are now made in India. Some Kobolds are now made in Nepal which borders India. So there's that.
