FWIW - regarding Check Engine Lights; goPoint sells a cable for about a hundred bucks which, when paired with their free iPhone or Android software, allows you to check and reset trouble codes / CEL's. Non reversible so be careful:

with a hot nail widen the hole so that "too tight" becomes just a bit looser. not pretty and not idea., but it will give you a tiny adjustment.

Canadian $ has been above the US $ for a fair bit in the last few years. Right now it's around 99.xx cents US, so you're not saving much
