Re: Replacing a bezel spring.

I've done it a few times. Make sure everything is clean and grease free. Usually put it on a hard flat surface and have sometimes used a book, pine board or something flat to apply even pressure to the bezel from above.

Re: TAD has sold.

Saw this a few weeks ago. Who would’ve known the market for $80 t shirts and $200 pants isn’t doing well. Oh and $1000 knives and $700 flashlights. I hope PDW takes note and offers more realistically priced items. A lot of PDW stuff is pretty reasonable. I have their NATO with Titanium hardware tha...

Re: New Longines Conquest models

Agree. I dont mind the thickness of the BB Pro when wearing it on the bracelet, but I do wonder why its thicker than this Longines, probably the extra 100m WR, right? Here is the link for the 39mm: https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/the-longines-spirit-zulu-time-now-in-39mm The Tudor GMT movement is...

Re: New Longines Conquest models

I will say, the black chrono looks great, as well as the new GMT models from the last couple of years. Was really close on getting this one before getting the Black Bay Pro: https://hodinkee.imgix.net/uploads/images/ee58c8c4-d652-49fe-a7ef-ab80ecb9d44e/L3.812.4.93.6_PUB.jpg?ixlib=rails-1.1.0&fm=jpg...

Re: New Longines Conquest models

The blue chrono looks nice. The three hand looks like just another generic mid-lux watch. Not bad, but I’m not sure why you pick it over anything else. I feel like every Longines watch looks like the plug was pulled on design 90% of the way in and they just stop shorting of making a really exceptio...

Re: Monta madness

I was thinking about why companies have the contrasting date wheels honestly Mike. ;) And the reason has to be that a lot of people want to have that contrast I guess. So maybe that is the reason, but I get that a lot of people also like it to blend in more. :) Honestly, it would be neat...

Re: New Seiko Thread

Seiko is releasing yet another 62MAS re-edition, the SJE093. Looks very much like the SLA017, but this one has the specs of the original, with a 38×46×12.5mm case, making it the truest re-edition yet. I know most here prefer bigger watches, but for me this could possibly be my exit watch. Comes wit...

Re: Titanic submersible missing

*PICS OF PARTS OF THE SUBMERSIBLE Pieces look bigger than I had imagined. If you zoom in, you can see the little bits of billionaire smeared on the inside. Was the PS4 controller recovered? It sustained heavy damage after being flung across the sub in frustration from failing to level up.

Re: New Tudors - FXD and FXD Chrono

Supposedly the chrono is 13.6mm thick, which would probably be quite manageable for a 43mm watch. That's not bad for a chrono, especially from Tudor. That would actually be a pretty nice wearing watch. The Black Bay chrono is around 14.5mm thick so impressive if they reduced it by almost 1mm. I'm c...

Re: New Tudors - FXD and FXD Chrono

I like the 3 hander. Would like a case without pvd coating but not a deal breaker. Noice [emoji108] It’s not a Pvd coating, it’s the plastic forged carbon deal. Interesting how plastic this forged carbon looks compared to say the Doxa (where you see all the compressed carbon fiber flakes) At the en...

Which is a tougher and better designed watch? Monobloc tuna Vs monobloc ploprof? Tougher in what sense? If you mean "beat it to shit", then the Tuna has to win because you can always just replace the shroud. Yeah, Ploprof is a beautiful object but Tuna is about as rugged as you can get for an analo...

Wasn't the OG SM300 introduced in 64'? I have to wonder if they will finally do some sort of sword hand reference in 2024. The current SMP hands have grown on me and I now like them. Unique and they are nicely finished and work with the current glossy wave dial nicely. SMP is quirky and unique. When...

Christ people, who gives a shit what size watch other men wear? I have my late grandfathers watch that he wore as a paratrooper in WW2. Here is him rocking it in it's 32mm glory. Wear what makes you happy, to each their own.

Re: Seestern... why do I feel dirty?!

I have to ask... did Doxa really create the case shape before all the other companies? I mean, in Art, we know that people like Van Gogh, Picasso, et Al., were inspired by other artists...musicians do the same... so, I recall Seiko putting out designs in the late 60's that had very similar case sha...

I'm assuming they removed the oil and clean the watch with the battery change prior to refilling? Maybe this photo was taken during that process?

I've always loved the Breitling Emergency model, especially the yellow dial variant from a few years ago. I just thought it was kind of cool to have a watch that doubled as an EPIRB. Kind of hard to justify at the almost $16K retail though, especially when I can get a decent EPIRB for well under $1...
