Update: It appears my worry was not necessary. I let the watch run down for about 28 hours, the manually wound it. When I did this there was no crown "slipping" feel, until it had been fully wound. I'm well aware of the overwind protection built-in to ETA movements, but this one felt different. I'm ...

My first two were "C" movement too. My first stopped after about 18 months, was serviced (updated) by Omega, and has run great since (about 30 months). These are fantastic watches regardless of version.
