Re: Wake Boarding In Kauai
Very cool! We love visiting Kauai. We visit HI every February as long as my buddy is stationed at Hickam. Orders come out in March, so as long he isn't given a command someplace, we schedule the next year's visit. HI is just a beautiful part of the world and Kauai is one of my favorite islands.

Re: Tockr Air Defender
Is THIS a discussion thread? No, this is a guy who joined the Dub with the sole purpose of promoting a website which bashes Tockr watches. The links he posted come from the bash site. Terry is rightfully calling him out. As an aside, I suggest you leverage the term "manufacture royale" and use it a...

Re: Tockr Air Defender
hmm, not sure, never thought of that. Sebastien is a great guy for sure either way! Skilled dude no doubt. https://www.brellum.swiss/en/the-brand/the-story.html I may have been putting 2+2 together to add up to 5. Franck was born in 1956 and Sebastian is mid-forties, so at best Franck could maybe b...

Re: Tockr Air Defender
...and just to add, $1,800 for a Tockr watch?! I had no idea these were going for almost $2K! Personally, at the $2K price point I would be looking at other candidates. Sinn definitely comes to mind. @Eric - what was that chrono you bought from that micro brand guy in Switzerland this past winter? I...

Re: Tockr Air Defender
OK - I think I've translated this crazy conversation into a logical sequence: 1) Heinze-D reports to be interested in a Tockr watch 2) Heinze-D comes here with no intro to ask about http://tockr.net/, which appears to be a bash website to highlight the fact someone else is selling Tockr watch design...

Re: The Watch Steward elastic straps
Well, to answer my own question I figured I'd try one. We'll call it a $25 experiment, plus I'm supporting a Made in the USA business, so that is good. They are only available in 22mm width, so I'll put it on either my SKX or Shogun. I'll see if I can wear it NATO style with the strap passing under ...

Re: The Watch Steward elastic straps
Looks very good, but hate the name on the buckle. Does it wear like a "pass-through" nato strap? No just around the spring bars.In this pic from MarkND it is on the right. He says it is completely US Made. :salute: I guess it is a good strap if you are just looking for another strap without the ext...

Re: Hey all. Greenhorn here.
You married your friend and two dogs? Damn, Alabama sure has gotten liberal in recent years! Just teasing - welcome aboard. I’m a Seiko diver fan myself, owning everything from an SKX007J to an SLA017. As a matter of fact, I’m timing some late evening grilling with my Shogun as I type this. https://...

Still on the Shogun kick.
I forgot who asked, but mine has been running true to the minute since I set it on Monday.
I don’t normally track accuracy beyond this.

Re: Ever sold a watch because of weight?
I saw those when they came out, but to be honest, I struggle to get past the name (both brand and model).
I’m sure it is a decent watch.

Re: Ever sold a watch because of weight?
Not weight for me, but yes to size (especially thickness). I really, really, liked my CREPAS Cayman, but it was just too thick for me to wear comfortably, especially with the domed case back. If they had made this watch with a 500 meter rating and 14mm thickness, I'd still own it. https://uniim-cach...

Re: Shogun vs Pelagos
I'm going to go the other way and vote for the Shogun, but I'm hedging my vote by saying the Seiko Shogun is probably a better watch to use while diving. I am not saying the Seiko is a better watch. Yes, the Pelagos has a better bracelet, but I don't wear a bracelet diving. I wear a rubber strap or ...

Re: Seaforth GMT tomorrow
My question (again, academic only) is, knowing the software isn't up to task, and knowing the situation on the original Seaforth release, why do it again? Chris, after the first crash Jason talked to his provider of his site if i recall correctly and they guaranteed him it wouldn't happen again. Th...

Re: Seaforth GMT tomorrow
I'm not in the E-comm business, but my assumption is those shopify-type platforms work fine for normal buying volumes. Situations such as this where thousands of people are trying to buy a small inventory are not normal and are likely outside the design parameters of the software. Heck, even Amazon ...
