When I use to go to a NAWCC mart in the bay area one friend there was a nut for these, he would have NOS ones with box and papers and original strap in his collection always had 2-5 of them he always had luck finding them.

Re: Seiko 6105
Here is mine. Got it for 450 off eBay in the old days needed work but even with that cheaper than today. The locking crown still works.
There was an unmolested one on the MWR PX that sold for 1280 AUS dollars with the US exchange rate would have been a great deal.

Re: Just got the itch for for another vintage diver
Very cool! Does the crown screw down? No, it doesn't the old school O -ring in the crown set up. It had no C on crown so a replacement. Saw these replacement Caravelle waterproof diver crowns on eBay so bought them with the new crystal and new crowns installed when I have this watch service should ...

Re: Just got the itch for for another vintage diver
Can't believe this found an original crystal for it. Has 665 on the package so knew for sure it was correct. I think this crystal will make you see the dial better so make the dial easier to see and make it where I might not want to relume it. The old crystal been beat up some cracks and maybe a lit...

Re: Just got the itch for for another vintage diver
Well received it the other day keeps good time 5 seconds slow a day. Am thinking of sending it to Jack to relume the dial to match hands. And if he can locate a Bulova 666 with date window dial have that replaced if not keep the original figure a new crystal you could see the dial better. Put a trop...

Re: WRUW Sunday 2/11/24
Been a while since I wore this one a watch, I owned longer than any watch in the collection I bought overseas in the Navy.
You can see it on the wrist from years ago,

Re: What watch do you keep coming back to?
I wear this one the most. It has the cool factor and some of my vintage watches I got early in collecting have gone up in price like nuts so wear them less. This one most don't recognize so someone wanting to rip it off is not great.

Re: CO Meetup next weekend!
Looks like a great meet up. One thing I miss when living in the bay area was meeting up with a few forum members none in MT. Looks like Colorado getting more snow than MT been a very dry winter and the few times it snowed the warmer temp melts it fast even rained a few times when it should have been...

Re: Masters of the air
Talking about the Navy. Greyhound is a hell of a good movie Tom Hanks did on a US Navy WW2 destroyer going after German U-Boats trying to sink ships in a convoy. Think Tom Hanks is making Greyhound 2 movie. The best WW2 sub movie I ever saw was Das Boot both sides had balls of steel in WW2. Really h...

Re: Masters of the air
Will watch for sure. My Dad was on a mine sweeper for part of his Navy tour during WWII. They got ship wrecked in the Aleutian Islands and had to burn barrels of fuel just to stave off frostbite until they were rescued. Unreal. He also was in Nagasaki harbor to clean up mines after the war ended. H...

Re: Masters of the air
My Dad was a ball turret gunner and flight engineer on US Navy Avenger torpedo planes I got some stories but not all of them just wished I bugged him more about it. Got his medals shadow box. The bad thing about WW2 vets is most of the military records went up in a fire just wished I had copies of t...

Masters of the air
Been watching masters of the air on apple TV. They lost more air crews lives than the Marine Corps in WW2 from what I read about it. It's really eye opening in the last episode I watched on a bombing missing that went wrong they lost so many aircraft one crew member bailed out before his parachute o...

Hodinke wanted 2500.00 for one 2 grand more. crazy what they charge. But theirs was in better condition with hodinke famous wrist shots. The movement looks in great shape. Will get the movement serviced. The gasket did not turn to mush yet like some vintage have.

It's coming from the Philippines with the humidity there might have got to the dial. The movement photos showed a clean movement no rust. Pollywatch should clean up the crystal.

Just got the itch for for another vintage diver
Well saw this on eBay this week. Been wanting one of these the price was right due to the dials shape. They normally sell for more with a better dial like 200-400 more. Ordered a vintage tropic strap for it. A Caravelle sea hunter. Has a cool handset. Might send it to Jack and have the dial relumed ...
