Re: ASMR - some snippets from recent shore dives :-)
I’m not sure how I missed this the first time around Carl. But I thankfully got to see it today. :salute: :) Just was wonderful really. Like being in or on another world to tell the truth. :o Really want to thank you for taking the time to post this up, and take us along on the dive, or dives !!! I...

Re: Smartwatches: A Good Thing? Or Modern Day Quartz Crisis?
The last thing I want is to be more connected to the electronic leashes. Some people seem to like it, more power to them, but I think it comes with a cost. Either way I don't see it having much impact on watch wearing overall.

Re: Crystal Preference?
It is according to the watch. Hardlex mainly for Seiko divers. Sapphire with still creates too much distortion if it is domed. Yes. For visibility underwater I prefer Hardlex, sapphire is the worst for reflections and needs good AR to work. Flat hardlex is the best for diving over all IMO. Hardlex ...

Sinn T1 & T1 B 45mm x 50mm x 12.5mm Grade 5 Titanium https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20220319/b0f204881815ff36d70fcf89157a7248.jpg The Sinn's look fantastic. I don't recommend them though if you are going to dive as the external AR gets abraided pretty easily. http://www.wellnet.com.au/pics/Sinn%2...

The OS300 and Tuna 1000m are the best large cased dive watches I have used.

Re: Roof top tents
I have an iKamper Mini hard shell. Works well, but the negatives mentioned above are all correct. I put it on to go camping with my wife but if I'm on my own I store it and use a swag on a stretcher.

Re: Is it advisable to grease the bezel?
Warm water after a dive is all I do. I would never grease something that is open to grit, you are just creating a grinding paste.

Re: New Mido Ocean Star 200C and Decompression Timer 1961
Nice looking watches. I really like the deco style. Its sad how many watch companies get the BAR vs depth rating wrong though :raised: (20BAR = 190m) Doesn't it depend on whether it's saltwater or freshwater? i.e you are correct for saltwater (where most people in the world dive), or freshwater, wh...

Don't know TBH. Its their J-Series diesel. They are famous for reliability and that was one of the draw cards for me

Re: Car Spotting
Extremely capable is an overstatement. Off road vehicles are generally limited by tires and clearance. While electric vehicles can have nice clearance and a great COG, they’re not special. The physics of traction and power never alter. The arguments about defender/ bronco/ wrangler are absurd for t...

Re: Message From Doxa
If they just admitted to 'Swiss assembled' there would be no argument. The claim they support free discussion is a little hilarious...they would be responsible for more banning's from WUS than just about all the other watch companies combined. At least they have dropped the whole 'we are not Synchro...

I struggle reading all metal bezels at the best of times...those bezels have tons of detailed info with very little contrast.
Also, are the watches programmable somehow? Cos if the bezel is fixed how do they provide stop recommendations without knowing your other dive details, gas mixes, etc?

Re: Do people actually dive with a Rolex?
Nobody needs a watch to dive with anymore - everyone uses a dive computer to maximize dive time these days. Watches worn during diving are for nostalgia and because “you can”. I always use to say I wore mine for backup, but I never had my dive computer go out and if it had, I’d have surfaced for sa...
