You were right. Watchexchange is back but a number of my subreddits did not return.

Re: men wearing women's watches, the next trend • WSJ

Men are taking over women's sports so why not watches as well. [emoji848] This got a laugh out of me. I’ve been lifting a lot of weights lately. I wonder if I’m on track to set a (women’s) world record? On edit — apparently I’m the world record holder for raw bench in my women’s age and weight clas...

No Vacheron but they had AP and PP? Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk VC was number 4 on the list... Number 4: Vacheron Constantin – The Oldest Continuously Operating Watchmaker Tradition is palpable at Vacheron Constantin. The manufacturer was founded in 1755, and describes itself as the oldest...

I'll go out on a limb and say that every "special" mainstream model that comes up to auction is a franken of some sort.

Re: Bracelet News: EZ-link now available

So this link would be a very nice addition to the clasps with the older style diver extension (the version that's on vintage bracelets + the 14060M). I'm going to buy at least one and see how it works. If this works, I’ve got 3 that could actually be worn instead of collecting dust all summer. I'm ...

Re: NEW RELEASE: Rolex Daytona Paul Newman Tribute

Wait… is it really 50k?? Yeah. It’s white gold, so “only” a $9k up charge for the display back and bracelet/ceramic bezel/panda dial combo that everyone has wanted forever. I guess I didn’t know the msrp of a regular Daytona. Insane. White gold on bracelet is around $40k. SS is $14k I think.

Re: NEW RELEASE: Rolex Daytona Paul Newman Tribute

I love it. But it is $51k at MSRP, impossible to buy at retail, and will sell at 3x retail via the usual suspects.

At this point watches like this have the same function as a Rembrandt painting. Beautiful but totally impossible own.

New purchase at the Tudor event last night. Not the Tudor you see all over the net and not for everyone, it’s a bit quirky but I love the looks. This looks so good. The original MM300 is one of the watches that I really wish wasn't too large for me. Such an iconic design from, IMO, the heyday of watches.

Re: What is up with watch prices?

Just to add… The more I think about it, I believe pretty much all watches fall into two categories: “practical” (i.e. quartz / smart watches) and “statement” (everything else). In the “statement” category, I’d say there are four sub categories: 1) Luxury (focus on affluence/ success) 2) Premium (fo...

Agreed - totally run like a company organized in silos. That's exactly the right way to describe it. It's like GS doesn't even know that these weird random watches have a feature that GS sorely lacks relative to Rolex and other similar alternatives.
