Re: Do people actually dive with a Rolex?

Nobody needs a watch to dive with anymore - everyone uses a dive computer to maximize dive time these days. Watches worn during diving are for nostalgia and because “you can”. I always use to say I wore mine for backup, but I never had my dive computer go out and if it had, I’d have surfaced for sa...

Re: Seiko Dive Watch Tested to Destruction

I’d imagine there would be some leakage at some point before failure, especially since Seiko does the single gasket crown. Didn’t Andrea do a Seiko test some years back? I had a Tag 2000 I used when I did my PADI class and some other dives back in 1998. It had never been opened, but leaked and requ...

Re: Seiko Dive Watch Tested to Destruction

Nice. So a Seiko 200m diver is ok to 800m and I saw previous footage of a 1000m Tuna going to 3000m without a problem.

Probably fair to say Seiko depth ratings are conservative!

^^^^ Yes, there is a lot to be said for a dealer who is willing to go the extra mile for you. I’m looking forward to hearing how those Rangers hold up over time. I actually appreciate Ford coming up with the Ranger as it pushes Toyota to improve their offerings. The Tacoma is really ready for an up...

Re: What do you drive???

Great thing about those cars is that you could wind them out and have fun at legal speeds. Now everything is heavy with stupid amounts of HP/Torque and grip. Yes. It's a mistake to chase big numbers and end up with a car that only really feels like it performs once you are doing stuff that will kil...

If it was his watch it’s actually been underwater, which is very cool. Congrats buddy. That watch is certainly no virgin  Its been past 60m several times and it's deepest was 83m. http://www.wellnet.com.au/pics/Seiko%20SBDX001%20GT%2015-09-2013%2000.jpg http://www.wellnet.com.au/pics/Seik...

What makes folks most mad about private companies making money off you? This is one I’ve never understood. Did anyone really think the services you get to use for free are actually free to provide? I am pretty careful with privacy as well, taking a lot of precautions those have mentioned here. But ...

Why not let cops search us without cause? Nothing to hide right? Warrants? Don’t need those. We fought a war for this. 🙄 Give me a fucking break.
Yup, and Amazon employees can just come up to my bedroom window and watch any time they like! What's the problem?

A little off-topic, but Wtf is up with used car prices lately? Supply? Demand? Both? Looking at moving to a coupe from my X5M, maybe a Cayman or older 911, and the prices are insane. And new cars? Have to get in line. It crazy. On-topic: here is a unique Taycan Turbo I saw today. https://uploads.ta...

Just reading this thread now.

They actually put 'Military' on the dial rather than 'Army'. Cringe.

Not a fan of copy watches and wouldn't go anywhere near the Synchron circus even if you paid me.

Re: What do you drive???

Picked up an Isuzu MUX. Love that you can still get Isuzu down under. Loved my 98 Trooper. My daughter took it over when she got her license a year ago. It got her safely through 2 wrecks ( neither her fault) and was finally burning through oil so fast that the engine seized a couple weeks back. I'...

Picked up an Isuzu MUX. This pic is at the end of an 80km beach run at the point the beach ends and the cliffs of the Great Australian Bight begin. I may be picking your brain a bit later in the year about camera recommendations. My son (12) is desperate to learn to dive. I’m working on she-who-must-be-obeyed to let him get his junior open water certificate. I know I’ll dive a lot more often once my son is eager to go. Happy to help if I can
