Re: New Tudors - FXD and FXD Chrono
Supposedly the chrono is 13.6mm thick, which would probably be quite manageable for a 43mm watch. That's not bad for a chrono, especially from Tudor. That would actually be a pretty nice wearing watch. The Black Bay chrono is around 14.5mm thick so impressive if they reduced it by almost 1mm. I'm c...

Re: New Tudors - FXD and FXD Chrono
I like the 3 hander. Would like a case without pvd coating but not a deal breaker. Noice [emoji108] It’s not a Pvd coating, it’s the plastic forged carbon deal. Interesting how plastic this forged carbon looks compared to say the Doxa (where you see all the compressed carbon fiber flakes) At the en...

Re: A new Ploprof!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Which is a tougher and better designed watch? Monobloc tuna Vs monobloc ploprof? Tougher in what sense? If you mean "beat it to shit", then the Tuna has to win because you can always just replace the shroud. Yeah, Ploprof is a beautiful object but Tuna is about as rugged as you can get for an analo...

Re: New Omega Seamaster
Wasn't the OG SM300 introduced in 64'? I have to wonder if they will finally do some sort of sword hand reference in 2024. The current SMP hands have grown on me and I now like them. Unique and they are nicely finished and work with the current glossy wave dial nicely. SMP is quirky and unique. When...

We are discussing in my office and are struggling with some basic decisions.... I feel bad for lost lives BUT How the hell is a person convinced to pay $$$ to be BOLTED into a carbon fiber submersible with acrylic windows, handed a PS4 controller and told "Hope we make it down.".... and these peopl...

We have an in-ground “expedition cave” that I’m now offering tours of. You’ll want eye protection and it’s gonna smell kinda bad, but you most likely won’t drown and it’s a fraction of the cost. If you seek adventure, call me. I dont even know how to respond to that… Thanks Hop. Hey, we provide swi...

Christ people, who gives a shit what size watch other men wear? I have my late grandfathers watch that he wore as a paratrooper in WW2. Here is him rocking it in it's 32mm glory. Wear what makes you happy, to each their own.

Re: Seestern... why do I feel dirty?!
I have to ask... did Doxa really create the case shape before all the other companies? I mean, in Art, we know that people like Van Gogh, Picasso, et Al., were inspired by other artists...musicians do the same... so, I recall Seiko putting out designs in the late 60's that had very similar case sha...

I thought about sending my Tuna in for a battery change, but just ended up doing it myself. Glad I did.. although no pressure test for mine. Thankfully the 5 year batteries in these last 8-10 years.

I'm assuming they removed the oil and clean the watch with the battery change prior to refilling? Maybe this photo was taken during that process?

Re: The Resurgence of Breitling
I've always loved the Breitling Emergency model, especially the yellow dial variant from a few years ago. I just thought it was kind of cool to have a watch that doubled as an EPIRB. Kind of hard to justify at the almost $16K retail though, especially when I can get a decent EPIRB for well under $1...

I want to like it, but not sure that I do. It probably is better in person in the 40mm size as some of the baroque features would be downplayed. I'm glad Ball makes it and continues to be different. This is one of those situations where if they addressed every single one of our complaints and change...

I think their designs are also a bit watered down. You can get the same basic design in a SARB, SARX, King Seiko, Presage and even with Citizen with varying degrees of finishing and dials. That's just my opinion. This is especially true of the basic quartz or auto dress Grand Seiko watches like the...

Re: Need help on a wife watch…
I wish I had better advice, but there has got to be a better way to drop $10k on your watch than roll the dice with a custom ebay special. You can buy a used two tone ladies Datejust for half that from a reputable seller and take it to a jeweler to have it customized yourself. https://www.crownandca...
