Re: Opinions please?

Glad I scratched the vintage Rolex itch a few years ago. Would hate to be in the market now.

Re: OLED

I'm going to give OLEDs one more season to come down in price some. Plus, I'm in no hurry to go to 4k, since I don't have many 4k sources at this point. Once I get an XB1 Scorpio (or maybe PS4 Pro), I'll make the jump to 4k.

Maybe you guys need to harden the fuck up, isn't that the motto here? Says the guy who got bent out of shape about a :puke: emoji. And I haven't been around the forum for awhile, it gets old, for me, seeing the same watches over and over. I hear Invicta changes models quite often. I think you...

I don't have many generic, me too, one of millions of identical status symbol watches

So many amazing independent watch makers out there doing unique work. Most of them don't conform.

Re: VDB Watches

Wow, never have I read a post on any forum so full of internal contradictions. Let's take it part by part ... Taste is very subjective. True. And I (and others) were expressing our opinion on VDB. Personally, 90% of the watches I see people flip out over here on DWC are hideous. Most Rolex, Seiko, O...

Re: Any PlayStation experts?

You could also do a MoCA network through your cable coax. Although some coax networks have splitters that inadvertently filter out the MoCA frequencies.

Re: Any PlayStation experts?

Have you changed anything about your internet setup? New service provider? New router? New cable modem? Switch to Fios? Most likely the issue is that you are using a new router and the ports needed for the PS4 to access the store are being blocked. Other things that can go wonky are other PSN servic...

I'm not a fan in general for a number of reasons, but from a basic design standpoint, why aren't the 12, 3, 6, and 9 markers lumed? Just makes no sense.

Re: Ginault Ocean Rover Thoughts and Comparisons

It is a simplification of the design. It doesn't have to be an exact copy to violate the patent. It depends on how the patent claims were written and how good the attorneys are on each side. But just because it's not EXACTLY like the Rolex clasp in every way, doesn't mean that it doesn't violate so...

Re: Ginault Ocean Rover Thoughts and Comparisons

Externally, the bracelet clasp is visually similar to the clasp found on the Eterna KonTiki Date
More like: externally the bracelet clasp is visually identical to the clasp found on the Rolex Submariner which they are copying.

This is too far over on the homage/fake spectrum for me.

Re: Differences..homages, brands etc, let's discuss.

I'd bet average people see any watch with Mercedes hands and think "Rolex". If they get close enough to notice the Mercedes hand watch isn't actually branded Rolex, they think "Fake Rolex". I think you're giving the average joe too much credit. He probably equates "Rolex" with one of two things, ei...

Re: Differences..homages, brands etc, let's discuss.

One place where I do give homages a pass is for long out of production models (especially if the original manufacturer is out of business) where the homage has a bunch of usability features unavailable on the original. An example would the the MK II Paradise (homage to the Benrus Type I and II). Eve...

Hahaha movies of 2017 preview  I'm actually looking forward to some of those. Underworld got terrible reviews, but who can dislike goth Kate Beckinsale in tight leather/latex? :jerk: She could fold clothes for the entire movie in that outfit and I'd watch it.:) https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg...
