Re: good service in the watch industry? say it ain’t so (IWC)

Looks amazing on Terry's new two-tone Navy/Gray strap. Also noticed that they changed the design of the new bars somewhat – looks like they have a squared-off side whereupon a small wrench could probably get purchase to remove. Interesting.

Re: blancpain mil-spec reissue

Rob says they officially pre-sold the entire lot, but if anyone backs out (which is pretty common) prior to final deposit, those watches are fair game. If you’re keen to grab one, give him a call, your odds are good.

good service in the watch industry? say it ain’t so (IWC)

So I took my IWC to the Vegas boutique to have the fixed bars replaced (long story), and while I wasn’t initially impressed with their ability to understand my request or fulfill on the spot, I begrudgingly agreed to leave it with them to be shipped off to Texas to their service center. Barely a mon...

Re: WRUW.....Tuesday 24th Oct 2017

First time I’ve ever paid full retail for one of these. Got a little caught up in the hype without really knowing if they’re gonna be all over the place and drop 50% in price by Christmas. Stoked on it though. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171024/88b64151d4983eee2cca7bb650e2983c.jpg Sent from m...

Re: best authorized omega service center in the US?

I think that’s about the same price as Omega Seattle. FWIW, the head watchmaker (the boss) at Omega Seattle is Mac Nesbit, son of (and formerly with) Nesbits Watch Repair. He’s a great guy. Damn, that's some pretty neat insight. Glad to hear that there are two great options within slapping distance...

Re: best authorized omega service center in the US?

That sounds about right. I had a full movement service and some basic work to the case, but no work to the bracelet and paid $525 for that.I also needed a new spring for the bezel, I'm sure I paid less that $600 for everything. Customer service was great, Jan called me twice during the process, onc...

Re: best authorized omega service center in the US?

Nesbits did a great job on my 2500 PO. Will send the Speedy to them later this year. Aw rad – what'd they do with it? Movement service and a polish? Was just quoted at 550 for the full spectrum (movement tuning, all gasket replacement, 600m waterproof check, case/bracelet touch-up) – does that soun...

Re: best authorized omega service center in the US?

I’ve used Omega NJ, LA, and Seattle. Seattle is fantastic and would be my first choice. Nesbits Watch Repair, also in Seattle, would be my second choice. I used Nesbits for a Speedy Pro full service and they were great. Turnaround time was much faster than Omega, the cost was quite a bit less, and ...

best authorized omega service center in the US?

Title says it all – I have an inbound Omega from 2011 that I'm extremely excited about, but it might need a trip to the spa sooner than later, and I'd prefer for it to go to a BOD-approved service center. Doesn't need refinishing or parts as it appears to have been a safe queen, so probably just a q...

Terry was nice enough to include some curved spring bars in my latest order, which makes the Supermarine goddamned perfect on a NATO now. Stoked.

Love that vintage one, but I’ve heard these wear big. I’ve got the same size wrist as you, might be a no-go for me.

Is the Silvercut just a print, or are they actually cut/brushed with texture? Hard to tell from the photos.

Well, they certainly got the lug drilling right on the Pelly. Wish everyone did it like VSA did with the old Divemaster – drilled in two places, one for the bracelet, and one real close for rubber/leather straps. Fucking perfect.

+1 for the Luminox. I know they're sorta lame, but I'll be damned if this ain't a killer aesthetic. Good for 'range day,' just a bummer they're 46mm.
