I’d look at a gray market Longines. Looks like a few moonphase options for around $1,600.

I don’t know about something more casual. Most moonphase watches trend on the dressy side.

I like the Speedmaster '57 reissue. Good size and I like the variety of colors, especially the green. Not sure about the mechanical movement - doesn't bother me, but I don't know if that appeals to the average customer. I like the Spirit collection. It's a nice, basic three handed sports watch. And at 42, 40, and now 37mm, it should be pretty easy to find one that fits. The MSRP is a little high for my taste, but you can usually find them for around $1,000 less on the second-hand market.

Good review, thanks. I like the way the watch looks, but I have a feeling the countdown bezel wouldn't be for me, and I also still need a date on my watch even though I can't see s*** without reading glasses now. It's purely psychological.
