From the back of the watch box, my unmolested SXK007 from 2009. I think this was my second Seiko.

Still looks pretty good for 14 years old.

Re: GO Sixties Chronograph Annual Edition

That is a beautiful watch, but I think it will wear rather large at 42mm with such a narrow bezel.

The proportions are well done though. The spacing between the registers and the pinion is about perfect.

IMG_7559.jpeg Let’s see if Seiko’s auto winding mechanism is efficient enough to stay running with my medically required “bump-on-a-log” activity level. I swear I’m going to be 300lbs when this knee is finally healed enough to allow me to start exercising again. I feel like I burn only about 12 cal...

Found a use case for non screw down crowns.

Decided to swap to the Hammy since I am not mobile enough to auto wind my automatics.

Easy enough to give the Hammy (7750) a couple of cranks every now and again.

Re: How can choosing a watch be so hard.

Back on topic, Andy, that is a lovely looking watch.

It was actually the watch I was going get for myself until the Seiko SLA017 came on the scene and pulled me away.

I'll own a Tudor someday. I have a lot of respect for the brand.

Re: How can choosing a watch be so hard.

I'm kind of curious about this eBay "authenticator" service. On one hand I agree it does offer some piece of mind, especially with an expensive (and commonly replicated) item such as a luxury watch. On the other hand, I am a little curious about how they go about authenticating the watch itself. I'v...

Oh really....what do you have in there?
With all the pain killers they gave me after surgery, I could fill that bag to the brim to make it truly a "dope kit" :bananastoner:

Re: Looking for a new man purse

Ziploc bags work very well. I prefer the slider models. Keep on the lookout for upcoming holiday patterns! Funny you mention this, but I've used a clear plastic zipper bag (about zip lock sized) I got at Eddie Bauer decades ago as a dope kit. I started using it back in the days before "TSA pre-chec...

I'll have to give a nod to my local bag maker - Baileyworks ( https://www.baileyworks.com/ ) I think their "Nomad" model might be just what you are looking for. Not just "Made in the USA". Your bag was probably sewn together by someone who looks like this: https://media.tenor.com/_odTUkCYW4cAAAAM/ne...

Thanks again for the well wishes Todd, Tom, and Bill. Yes, the injury sucked. The irony was it happened from slipping on stairs in my home and not from MT bike riding, surfing, skateboarding, or skiing (all things “dangerous” my wife scolds me for doing!). I’ll post up some scar pics once I get the ...

Re: Sub 1000 t click spring

Maybe also try connecting with Dr. Peter Millar http://www.doxa300t.com/1000t/sub1000t.htm He was able to save a vintage Doxa using parts scavenged from a Maranez “homage” watch (which cost about $200). IIRC in his case it was a bezel and click spring. As an aside, according to Peter, Maranez will s...

Re: New Tudor 9/14

Does anyone else find it a bit odd that some of the minute markers are missing from the bezel? For example, the markers at 19, 21, 29, 31, etc.? I assume that this was done for aesthetic reasons so as to not crowd the numerals, but that didn't seem to be a concern for the 9 and 11 markers. I guess ...

Good luck, Pete. Regarding the move to “van life”, this has to be said….

Kind of ironic how “living in a van down by the river” used to be a threat, and now it is an aspiration.

If you decide to sell, I’m guessing there is a fairly narrow band of brand collectors / enthusiasts. These are the folks you are looking to connect with. There is a “chronosport udt repair” website whose owner might be interested in a package deal or maybe has connections who might be interested. I ...

All 38.5. Get the F out
And all 15mm thick. Will be little tanks.
About the same size as the Hamilton Khaki Chrono.

I’ve got a skinny 7-ish inch wrist and the Hamilton wears OK (IMO). I wouldn’t write off this Sinn just because of the dimensions.

A guy on WUS photoshopped up what the folks there were suggesting and actually came up with a decent looking watch.
