I absolutely love some of the obscure lesser brands. But I really hate when I get one in for service. They suck when it comes to getting parts. And the repair prices get expensive really quick.
Yeah and the parts especially things like dial, markers signed crowns are impossible to find

Flieger B-Uhr Hamilton Pilot Watch Project Completed

This just in from my watch guy. Sourced all the parts including that beautiful Hamilton 923 21 jewel movement: https://i.imgur.com/1RtZalM.jpg https://i.imgur.com/09Z1GSa.jpg All in parts, labor, etc...I'm in it for around $500. According to my watchmaker the movement is beautifully done. Take a loo...

I had about 5 Caribbean 1000 models and one had a broken crown. If yours is the same design. Don't think you can buy one. The case tube on mine was threaded on the inside and crown tube was threaded on the outside Parts suppliers do sell threaded tube and crown sets if you want to change it over DO...

ok here is an example of the hype, this is a quote: The WHO’s estimated mortality rate for COVID-19 started off at 2%, Fauci said. If you count all the estimated cases of people who may have it but haven’t been diagnosed yet, the mortality rate is probably closer to 1%, he said, “which means it’s 1...

Re: Lesser known vintage brands?

The Tressa chrono is very cool. This Roamer is the only chronograph that I own at the moment. Found it at a thrift/antique store in excellent condition with a missing pusher. Price - $5. Even came with its original hang tag. Had it restored for somewhat more than $5.! https://imagizer.imageshack.co...

The media in this country is shot. Objective journalism is pretty much dead. It’s a big business driven by click rate and headlines to draw people into their sites. Sad but true. Absolutely true and they have their agenda. If they had any integrity the headline should have read....."Corona Mortalit...

Re: Global slow down...

I think the panic at the public health is the published 3%+ death rate.... The flu is 1.5 per 10,000 This is 300+ per 10,000 So if 31M people get the virus (estimate of people who get the flu in the US each year), That’s 1M deaths. The death rate at this time is sku'd because as many as 80% of the ...

Interestingly enough this thing seems to affect children far less than adults. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/02/05/health/coronavirus-children.html I was at a college LAX game on saturday afternoon and usually the teams line up and to shake hands or touch gloves after the game no line up to hand shak...

Re: Global slow down...

The death rate at this time is sku'd because as many as 80% of the cases are going unreported. As more accurate reporting becomes available the detah rate will go down, read the article further up in the thread it explains it well I'd wager that most flu cases go unreported, too. Thank you....

From what I can gather, it appears that the crown should screw down. Especially if rated to 20 ATM.

The death rate will continue to drop and more and more cases are diagnosed with the testing kits. I would not at all be surprised when this is all said and down if they don't find that thousands have had with little or mild symptoms. IMO this is so much hype over nothing more than the FLU I hope yo...
