Unusual Sinn Customization
Warren Thomas is a well-known tactical knifemaker whose work is usually superb. He specializes in titanium and carbon fiber knives. I stumbled upon this Sinn 103 he customized, using his trademark finishes. Its not to my taste, but he is meticulous in his work so I believe its probably several notch...

I wore this today.
For about 5 minutes, then had to return it to my friend whose watch it is. Utterly gorgeous and fantastic.

Cheesy New Watch Promo
Maybe it’s just overdone, but I feel this Luminox is a cheesy try to somehow tie their watches to the military. What do you think?

Re: BENRUS EXPERT?
Don’t underestimate the value of its provenance. Even a plain jane watch that was surveyed to supply and then worn by an active duty hard hat Master Chief is going to have a strong valuation. Added to that is the high desirability of the true Benrus Type I, in clean condition, and it’s reasonable to...

I have used Jack many times, not just with Seikos, and never had a problem. I’m not his apologist, but I know that he had a rough patch a few years ago and that may have affected some of the work. I believe he’s back on track now - I recently entrusted an EZM 1 to him with outstanding results.

This is tempting, especially vs the ‘military’ dial versions.

Just finished this which I recommend highly to anyone here - the significance of the watch can’t be overstated in ocean navigation!
I just started this one - a wild story that is supposed to be true!

CWC Bezel Question?
I recently picked up a CWC RN auto diver dated 2012. It runs great, and I like it alot. However, the bezel is pretty scuffed up, and CWC does not currently have a replacement insert for this model. I can live with it as is, but just wondering if any of you know if an aftermarket bezel is available t...

Fixing a Ding on a Case?
A family member has a 16600 Sea Dweller that recently got a small ding on one of the case lugs - see pic. IMG_1889.jpg He wants it fixed with the minimum of loss of steel - if this is possible. Can it be repaired without being obvious? If so, suggestions on who to do the work? The obvious answer wou...

Re: Strange Doings in an EZM2 Hydro
Funny you should mention that - I did use a small piece of closed cell foam the first time I tried this, but then realized the caseback does a better job anyway. This is why many EZM2s will have a small bubble when unworn, but which disappears as soon as the watch is warmed by wearing it on a wrist....

Re: Strange Doings in an EZM2 Hydro
It was always my understanding that there should be no air present within the watch case at all. Given the air is the compressible material, a watch case filled with air would have to be stout enough to resist compression. When the case is filled with oil, which is not compressible, then the case c...

Strange Doings in an EZM2 Hydro
Here is a picture I took off an ebay listing. eznm2.jpg Its a Japanese dealer selling an EZM2 (403) Hydro. The pic shows the caseback open with a new battery, and the other pics show it buttoned back up with an oil fill. The the battery compartment is DRY, but the dial side is oil filled. If that is...

New to Me - "PROSPEX STREET URBAN SAFARI Series Grey SRPE31
Start with knowing I'm in the honeymoon period with this watch, but... This is basically a mini-tuna with a 4R36 auto movement in it. 43mm in diameter, 44mm lug-to-lug, stainless steel case and shroud, 120 click coin edge bezel, 6105 style handset, white on black day/date, crown at 4, and the shroud...

I wish my wife liked hers long enough to need the battery replaced.... re-selling womens watches is tough sledding.

Re: Doxa’s newest Army
I find this ( and the Synchron) interesting, but what Army is this designed for? The Black ‘n’ Tans? That dial just doesn’t scream “military” to me.
