Re: Rolex education

It's as bad as watching your parents make out... I dunno, I rather enjoyed watching that! "Not so funny when it's ur mom, huh!" -- Seriously, the only thing I can think of is urban camouflage to keep people from recognizing it and asking why in the hell you'd spend so much money on a watch....

Re: So you know those watches on your 2nd tier ?!?

Omega SM300

Kobold Arctic tac and/or SMG-1 tac

Seiko Grand hi-beat (e.g. SBGH005) I admit that the GS may be edging out of 2nd tier price-wise, but it's one I'd love to sport for a day with no strings attached. None of these are bucket list grails for me, but I think they're all very cool.

Re: The Streets of San Francisco (insane Ford Fiesta style)

I asked my guy (Scott Logan of Logan & Trimble; he's in the credits at the end) how he not only got the streets, but how he got rid of the people, and his only response was: "It was a LOT of work." Heh. He did say that the bridge was totally closed for maybe all of 6 minutes. I'm surmising that the ...

Re: The Streets of San Francisco (insane Ford Fiesta style)

That is just over-the-top sick, effin' driving! Turns out that the location scout for the clip is from my wife's HS graduation class (he does all sorts of crazy film work; he was the scout for the Iron Man movies, for example...). I shall facebook him tout de suite and ask about the streets. I mean,...

Thanks for adding some substance. I actually started to watch Reclaiming the Blade but the wife and daughters gave me that look...we all know it... Ha! Do you have any idea how long it took me to get through that goddamn movie?  That's why I remembered it so easily; that thing was a pa...

Clements may be on a high horse, but he's the real deal, at least so far as scholarship and enthusiasm go. If you want more info, his second book is a good place to start: http://www.amazon.com/Medieval-Swordsmanship-Illustrated-Methods-Techniques/dp/1581600046/ref=pd_bxgy_b_img_b/190-2329251-870361...

Re: Penn St/Sandusky Trial

Problem is, one man's cowardice is another man's loyalty. Ask the Catholic church (to name just one high profile example) about that. When protecting institutions, or people who represent institutions, becomes more important than protecting just plain, ordinary people, then anyone is fair game, incl...

Re: How About Some EDC Pics?

Micheal. The PPK/S is a common backup here in the NW. Its pretty much "old school". We can carry anything as a BUG as long as we qual with it and its .380 and above. I have carried a PPK or a J-frame as a BUG forever. Carry a Glock on the job. I think the whole carry the same smaller gun as a BUG i...

Cool. Looks like yours is, very appropriately, a 1969.

Accutrons are a cool piece of history. Here is mine, from the first year of production (1960), an asymetrical with 14k inlay:

Re: How About Some EDC Pics?

I have the "Big" version of that knife by Benchmade. Fantastic knife. ^^^I had that same big 975, or whatever it was, but I gave it to a buddy when he deployed. Loving the old school 007 BUG; I'm surprised that a WA agency authorizes it for carry. I assume it's .380? I have a .32k, but it's relegat...
