Re: Is there a market for Helson garden lamps?

I've owned a couple of Helsons, but I'm certainly no fanboy. I bought a used Tortuga for an outrageously low price and I really enjoyed it as an every day watch. Only reason I no longer have it is because I was able to trade it for a watch I wanted more, Precista PRS-50B. I also had a Skindiver, whi...

Re: i handled the new hand winding/hacking monster today

Whether you like the style or not, the real virtue of Seiko Monsters is that they offer real value the a sturdy dive watch with phenomenal lume. What I don't get are those who are willing to pay $1000 or more for some of those Monster LE watches. Reminds of the beanie baby craze where all the value ...

Re: Cool affordable watches

I like my "poor man's MKII Blackwater," the Precista PRS-18A, with Miyota 9015 movement. Comfortably less than $500 new, even less used or in the quartz version, PRS-18Q. Great looking classic style and the lume is damn near as good as a Seiko Monster. http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a2d733b3127cc...

Re: Boutique watches... So which are your faves? if any!???

Here are some of my micros. I dig 'em all, but of the three, the Precista gets the most wrist time because of its versatility and the way it looks and feels on the wrist. http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a2d934b3127ccef0cbc61bf58d00000030O00AbtXLVo4ZsWoPbz4e/cC/f%3D0/ps%3D50/r%3D0/rx%3D550/ry%3D400...

I have a Hexa on pre-order and the strap give away is a great touch. Unfortunately, my face has been deemed too ugly for Facebook.

Re: thats an expensive Sumo...

Whenever I see limited release of anything that's stupid, pointless, and overpriced, it reminds me of the beanie bobbie craze.

I'm starting to wish I'd jumped on that.
It's not too late. I was a little too slow for the original release, but I've pre-ordered for the second run, scheduled for mid-February.

Re: A question about relume and an introduction

The steps I might take would be to see what lume is on your LM-3 now, and what's available from Jack...or whomever else would do quality work. The tint of the lume is to be considered as well. C1 (Sinn U1) is very white, but doesn't burn super bright. Though it last longer than it given credit for....

Re: A question about relume and an introduction

Welcome Chuck I'm not sure how much an LM-3 costs, but I'd look at it this way. Let's say you spent $800 on it and let's say it cost $150 to re-lume it. Do you want to spend such a large % of the watch cost on lume? Again, I don't know the actual numbers, but that's how I'd approach the situation. ...

A question about relume and an introduction

This is my first post on this forum, but I figured the folks here would know as much about my question as anyone. One of my dive watches is an Ocean7 LM-3, which i purchased brand new earlier in the year. I'm impressed by every aspect of the watch but one-the lume. It's just OK, nothing remarkable a...
