Re: Anyone ever screw up an ISOfrane?

FWIW, I received one of those "ISO-a-likes" from Borealis a few years ago that had a similar nick in the edge of the rubber. The Borealis folks sent me a replacement, but I ran the nicked one on a Seiko for an entire summer surfing, etc., with no ill effects. I eventually sold the Seiko with the rep...

Hamilton Khaki Field Chrono.

For a relatively humble watch, the 7750 in this thing is really accurate.

Re: WRUW 4 January 2019

Another afternoon switch up. Late Christmas gift from my girls, but worth the wait. http://i.imgur.com/B018ZWS.jpg My son absolutely loves that watch! If he was a bit older (he's only 10) I'd buy it for him. As it stands, I'm not certain even a G-Shock could withstand the punishment he can dole out...

Re: 2018 ins & outs

Edit: I’d give my left testicle for an old school explorer II  That’s my only 2019 goal after flipping the Black Bay A 1655? I'm completely with you. Prices have gotten stupid expensive on them, unfortunately. Just like every other vintage sports Rolex. The modern 5 digit Explorer II (16570) ...

Re: 2019 Watch Goals

My SLA017 has checked a lot of boxes for me on dive watch desires, but the BB58 still has my attention. I could see adding one of those to the box next year. Like Joe, the Hamilton Chrono is also on the list, but I find the chronograph function more academically interesting than practical for my tim...

Re: IWC service in the UAE

Reminds me of the local place that I use when I need work done on my Tacoma. They let me use a private office while I wait. They provide free wifi, good coffee, and they always seem to have a plate of pastries out. I tell them to take as long as they'd like with the truck. Their office is nicer than...

BTW- what is with the trend toward quick release spring bars in straps? I think this is the third or forth micro released with these type of bars.

Re: Pelton Nickel Silver

I agree, the look is interesting. I'm just surprised some watch maker would engrave "Made in the USA" on the case back given all the previous uproar on this topic. Why? He makes his own cases in Detroit. What’s the issue ? in-house manufactured cases, bezels, screws, crowns, and bracelets Not me - ...

Re: Uncle Seiko Chocolate Bar strap

Speaking of Seiko straps, I am pretty impressed with Seiko's new rubber (silicone?) blend and I appreciate how they include tubes in the spring bar holes for security. The Z 22 that came with my SRP777 doesn't have any tubes in the spring bar holes. Is it supposed to have them? I bought i...

Re: 40mm Caribbean homage by Timefactors

As for Eddie's reputation, at least he doesn't have a Helson situation on his record. For those not following on WUS, Helson released an Omega PloProf 600 homage that apparently leaks like a sieve. They are being recalled for repair, but I'm not certain how well Helson's brand reputation will survi...

Re: Karlskrona Hemlig - Latest design renders

Looks good. A couple thoughts - maybe the hands could be a bit wider and maybe the logo could be done in a dark grey rather than black on black. It just might give a little detail to the dial without giving up too much “tactical” style.

Re: 40mm Caribbean homage by Timefactors

I agree the bezel is a bit useless for diving purposes, but I like the overall look of those Caribbean homages. The handset looks consistent to the style and the BOR bracelet (IMO) is the right design for this homage. I'm taking a wait and see approach. It might make a good summer watch if the price...

Re: Uncle Seiko Chocolate Bar strap

Looks good! It kinda reminds me of the stock rubber strap that comes with the SLA017 (which I really like except it is super long - perfect for a wet suit, not so good for daily wear). The long side on this one is 127mm The SLA017 stock rubber long side is 142mm for reference. that is a long strap ...

The Tudor has been delayed in getting to RSC, according to USPS; I insured it for 3K. Is it wrong of me to wish for the package to get lost or stolen in transit? :banplz: Nope. Nice truck Paul, On a different note: I went to leave my house at 05.45 this morning for training, and as soon as I opened my door, my recently acquired Toyota Hilux of 6 weeks was not in front of my house. Some ass hole has stolen my vehicle during the evening. Hugely pissed off as I'd only finish...
