Re: IWC Ceramic Top Gun Chronograph

I'd also have a hard time knowing this was inside the case of my $10k+ watch. Still can't get past this.

Re: IWC Ceramic Top Gun Chronograph

Looks awesome to me too .. The only thing I don't get is why they moved the IWC logo next to the date window. So much going on, on the right side of the dial and emptiness on the left side of the dial. Other than that, it's a damn sweet piece. Happy IWC shrinking their watches ... Now if they would ...

No way I'm taking it in the water... I'm sure it'll be fine, but why risk it? I have an insured Sub C for that

Re: Picked up this old thing today ....

Amazing find and story behind it. I have always wanted to pick up a piece like this from the original owner in a non-traditional way. I never thought of local classified ads. I am not asking for the actual sale price but how was the price arrived at? Did the seller have an idea of current value? Is...

Local classified ads! He responded to my WTB ad for a Rolex 5513 ... Can't believe that actually worked!

Re: Picked up this old thing today ....

That's a great pick up and how cool to have it from the original owner who used like the tool watch it was designed to be. Congrats on the great addition to you collection. Thanks! This was my thoughts exactly... It was awesome to find a piece that was used as it was intended.. He even gave me a pi...

Re: Picked up this old thing today ....

That's amazing! Did he say what made him want to sell it? He just didn't wear it anymore.. He said for the last couple years he just had little desire to wear a watch anymore.. He had it serviced by Rolex back in 2012 because he wanted to take up diving again .. Pretty awesome he told Rolex not to ...

Picked up this old thing today ....

1972 Rolex 5513... Bought from the original owner who literally kept everything including the original receipt (he paid $178 for it) and all of the service work over the last 40ish years. He said he wore this every day for the last 40 years and was an avid diver in the early 70's, which is why he bo...

Re: So the market really is soft

Going to be interesting to see if the watch bubble is finally bursting ... I think a lot of fly by night brands are going to feel this pinch the most.. It won't change my watch buying habits at all.. Best just to buy what you like, vs what you think will be worth money down the road. That way if the...

Re: First few owners of new Daytona.

Kinda douchey article. *edit* After actually reading it through, I would like to revise my statement and say it is a very douchey article. This was my exact thought as I was reading it.. It was less on their thought on the watch and more on how awesome they were to be the first. It was basically Be...
