Ice diving the Supermarine 2000

Took the new Bremont bad boy under 20 inches of ice this weekend... Lotta work for not much time underwater but it was fun. Couple of photos from the scene. Underwater pics forthcoming. http://i494.photobucket.com/albums/rr308/watchnerd/3641702E-8AE3-44CC-B5A8-A4D5030E90F7-1163-000000385BD6C169_zps0...

Re: Hodinkee "Fantasies Of Being A One Watch Guy..." Article

Thanks for all the kind words, guys. I enjoyed writing that article. It's the human stories behind watches that I love. Now... is anyone interested in buying my GMT-Master? (I'm only half kidding.)

$5900 actually. And to be honest, this stands up favorably with any Aquatimer I've ever owned.

Bremont Supermarine 2000

Prototype on my wrist... First impressions are good. It's a beast but a sexy beast. Typical Bremont quality. I'm taking it ice diving this weekend and to the Bahamas next weekend to see how shes does when wet. http://i494.photobucket.com/albums/rr308/watchnerd/D5E3E12A-203F-4D23-81AB-04A040899597-29...

Price seems suspiciously too good... If its legit, would make the ultimate beater PAM. Paul, it's got your name all over it.

I had a chance to fondle and try on most of the new lineup at SIHH this week. Helmut Sinn's own 142 (with the proper Lemania motor) is for sale here for a decent price:

My wife dives with her 37.5mm Planet Ocean Chrono, and also has a Rolex Oyster Perp and a Nomos Club handwound. Wait, that's a better collection than mine! She takes some mean watch photos too:

112 goes skiing

Just posting because we haven't had a Panerai forum post in the New Year yet and I'm loving the camera on the iPhone 5. I went out for a few k's of XC skiing today and wore the 112. http://i494.photobucket.com/albums/rr308/watchnerd/8E5AAF26-5921-4EA9-A9A5-6F363B20D758-11405-000002AE04B8FECD.jpg OK,...

I have one but cannot get it to fit on my 14060 drilled lug old Sub. Fits loosely on my old GMT-Master (not perfect). I was told they were designed for the new sports models.

Re: IWC 3717 anyone?

It's a great watch. It is one of the most eye-pleasing and visually interesting watches out there. As Adam said, it takes strap changes well. Well-built and rugged, it can dress up pretty well too. The only reason I parted with mine was because I'm more of a diver than a pilot and found I always rea...

My first Panerai

What took me so long? This one should have been a no-brainer for me all these years. It ticks so many boxes for me it's ridiculous... I'm not a big leather guy (awaiting jokes) but this one looks so right on the padded black leather with contrast stitch. I suspect I'll be adding straps too. http://i...
