Re: Cool old Wakmann!!

yeah, i like the 4/7/10 on the dial.

if it was 37 or 39, i'd consider it. i don't wear my zodiac seawolf as much as i should because it's only 35.

that looks awesome. totally jealous. a safari is on our list of "big trips" too. how close were you to some of those animals? or how long was your zoom/telephoto? if the lens was really long, i'm impressed with how crisp the are. Re: New Grand Seiko diver review

see, those are nicely implemented. but they seem to be rarities (not to mention in some of the most expensive watches). as opposed to something like this, where the power reserve is obviously the most important thing you'll be checking on the watch face. http://www.watchesonnet.com/blog/wp-content/u...

Re: New Grand Seiko diver review

it's possible to make it subtle. for some reason, most watches seem to eschew subtle and say, "OMG LOOK AT THIS WE HAVE A FREAKING POWER RESERVE FOR YOU RIGHT HERE! WHAT? YOU DIDN'T NOTICE? LET ME MAKE IT BRIGHT RED FOR YOU!"

I agree. It's the best way to do it.
let me third that. the PR isn't something that needs to be "in your face" like it is on most watches. they always seem to be prominent features on a watch face, which fuglifies the watch for me.

Re: New Grand Seiko diver review

yeah, i like some things here, but the bezel font is wrong and too big. and i'm not a big fan of those hands. especially when the tail of the minute hand is over the hour.

Re: Could I become a Nato guy?

i have custom cut leather zulus. there's no tail tuck and no second piece, it's all just one strip of leather. https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3808/9240656361_c0f59ef40a_c.jpg i don't see why you couldn't put a quarter on the tail and cut it to fit even if it wasn't cut custom for your wrist to begin...
