Re: The Grand Tour

Agree, Ep 3 was a return to form. I saw on Reddit that a lot of people don't care for The American. Part of the appeal of The Stig was his silence. Also, the Celebrity Brain Crash segment is pretty odd. However, did anyone notice Jeremy's shoes this time? https://i.reddituploads.com/2bdcc5dcc8...

This is unfathomable to me. On his IG post, he mentioned Ember's unwavering faith, which is awe-inspiring. I wish I had that fortitude. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, Brice.

Re: Waited my entire life for this --- ALL In > CAVS2016

Wasn't a Lebron fan through the playoffs and much preferred the GS brand of ball movement basketball, but I can't help but be really happy for Cleveland fans. Glad sports talk people can stop talking about the Lebron/Cleveland storyline and move on to other topics. Would be interesting to see Golde...

Re: Seiko 6105

I've got a 6106-8100 which I understand uses a similar case to the symmetrical 6105. It's a pretty comfortable watch, no doubt, but I still don't feel like it has the presence of the asymmetrical one. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160617/f75222938388a09c3c67e2c34d78925b.jpg Sent from my iPhone u...

Re: Watch straps that accept 2.5mm spring bars

Another thing (as a strap-maker) is that if you stuff springbars into a strap, they can bind the spring mechanism and keep it from expanding to full length, which can lead to spring bars falling out of the lugs. Ask me how I know. :crybaby:

Re: FTC Takes Major Action Against Shinola

Indeed it was only a matter of time before Shinola complied with the FTC's guidance. A guy in my office about them because he's a native Detroiter and really liked the premise behind what Shinola was doing. Of course, when I told him that the only thing that really happened in Detroit was assembly, ...

Re: Seiko 6105

Mulling over adding one of these. Looking for advice. 1. Prices seem all over from $550 to $1500. 2. Looking for lower end beater....good source? 3. Are the "built-mod" ones ok? (Not my first choice...but $125 is enticing). 4. I am an admitted member of the He-man-Seiko-haters club, so very ignoran...

Went with the OVM LE this morning. Love the ND dial and the high dome, I think the reflections and distortions at the edges are kinda cool :) . Have a great day. Re: How many have slowed down buying watches

Yup, same here. I've even seen some I like and just haven't bothered to pull the trigger. Like others, I've been diverting a lot of funds toward other hobbies like leathercraft. Thankfully, that's starting to turn a profit so I'd imagine the watch buying will pick back up . . .

Re: Toxic Screwdrivers ideas?

Okay I think this idea has run its course for now. The way it looks is for me to get a decent set with all of the sizes needed to match certain watches (like Omega) I would have to get them custom made. And that isn't an option right now. Heck I can't even find a vendor in the US who wants to make ...

where the hell have you been Jeff? the best kind is the sanding block version. or you can sand the clasp with some 250 grit wet sandpaper then do a light brush. First of all, 3M sucks when it comes to abrasives, Norton makes the best stuff on the planet!! (I work for Norton by the way). ...

Also, Spencer Klein, though I don't know what his lead time looks like. I don't think you can go wrong with any of those mentioned here. Spencer's queue is well over a year and to be honest some of his recent posts make it seem he's burned-out. I had thought about sending my 6139 to him but would b...
