think this was a collab that terry posted about earlier I didn't collab anything with them. But I did mess up and show them one of my straps at Wind Up. These shitty watches absolutely have to be some sort of global money laundering scheme. There's no way someone decides to invest money into making this thing for legitimate reasons.

Re: Hodinkee Reviews the U-2/51-Jet

Meh indeed.
When I read the U2 tie-in, I was expecting something special. I think Bremont missed a massive trick here, they could have done something really unique and cool, instead they just hit the parts bin and the DLC dept - not cool.

What does a job like this cost?
I'm not sure, as I think I had a few other watches with him at the time, and I was doing some free design work for him in return.
(remember, he is in the UK though)

Re: Great re-lume job on my EZM1

James is superb.. he's one of the (if not the best) best relumers in the business, and a top bloke too. He also does crystals/gaskets etc. He has worked on dozens of my watches over the years. One of the stand-out jobs he did for me was this... I had a Tudor Snowflake that had amazing patina on the ...

Re: check out this Heuer Autavia collection...

Speaking of vintage watch prices, check out some of the stuff currently for sale at Analog Shift. I haven't looked there in a while - absolutely insane prices on some of these watches. I can't see ever spending $12K on a Speedmaster, no matter what year it was made. https://shop.analogshift.com/col...

Re: check out this Heuer Autavia collection...

I think there are a fair few of us DWCers that have HSR (Heuer Selling Regret)!! Ain’t that the truth. Sold a Viceroy and a Bund. The Bund was sweet - all original. Stupid stupid stupid. Now I’m Heuer-less and the prices have gotten to the point where I’m out probably. Sent from my iPhone using Tap...

Re: Fitting French Doors that are narrower than opening

Sell a Heuer and buy a custom door! I might have to sell a few.. I need 2 sets of patio doors, a new bathroom, kitchen and new flooring :tap: I'm buying a house right now (probably finding one and making an offer next week). House shit is expensive. It seems like $30,000 for a bathroom, and $50,000...

Re: Fitting French Doors that are narrower than opening

Put a bigger frame around the doors and the finish it off with some molding to fit over the door frame and the added frame. Does that makes sense? Yes, Makes sense.. but the sides of the frame will be a lot wider than the top.. but it could work! You can have different sizes of frame on the sides a...

Re: Fitting French Doors that are narrower than opening

Eric,
Yeah, sidelights are an option, but even doors + sidelights come in standard sizes, which don't fit my opening.
Plus, the extra cost of sidelights means I may as well get customer doors.
