Re: Watchbuys exclusive****Sinn 104 I St Sa Matte Special Edition

Maybe just me, but I'm not sure we need any more blasted Sinns, particularly not one of their non-divers. I think this watch would look great all-brushed, though.

Re: Gas Gas Bones has quit or at least slowed down production

He's a great guy in my experience. I could see how cranking out straps for years on end would leave me unfulfilled and wanting something more. Best of luck to him.

Re: Modern Cars Do Nothing Leave Me Cold

Ehh, different cars. Your Shelby is undoubtedly an engaging and a great weekend fun car. But you're not going to commute five days a week in it, in any and all weather conditions, like your uncle can in that 4S. The 911, like a bunch of other modern GT/sports cars, is a brilliant one-car solution--d...

Nah. I wish. That’s my friend’s original Mitsukoshi. And his incredibly cool GT3.

That looks awesome. I generally don’t like modern-looking dive watches, such as the U1, on leather, but the U1P really works on dark leather. Love mine on a Chronissimo.

Re: Budget audiophile gear recommendations

Ok. The Elacs sound wonderful. I don’t have much to compare them to, but they are warm and yet clear. Love the Modi 3, too. I can stream hi res Amazon music from my iPhone with a $40 cable, and bypass the need for a dedicated streamer or a laptop. Amazon HD seems great thus far as well.

Re: Budget audiophile gear recommendations

Ugh I’ve been super busy. Just unboxed them today. Will set everything up this weekend. They are going in a medium-sized living room with an open floor plan.

Any feedback from anyone on Amazon Music HD?

Re: Budget audiophile gear recommendations

OK, decided after doing some more research to go with Elac B6.2s instead of the HDP6s. Also bought a Modi 3 DAC. Will start by streaming from my MacBook, and also bought a couple of cables to see how my iPhone 7 works as a streamer. Excited to try the new Amazon Music HD service that was just releas...

Re: Budget audiophile gear recommendations

OK, this thread just cost me about $600. But I'm excited. Nice! What did you order? Same setup as you. An A-9110 and a pair of the HDP6s (the Drop deal was incredible on those). Bought a BT receiver as well, and am going to see how streaming high bitrate music over BT works out. Will probably need ...

Re: Do you still have the watch that got you started

The Swatches and calculator watches I had as a kid are long gone. I still have my first grownup watch, a quartz Citizen chronograph I bought in 1996. And of course I still have my first big boy watch, the 16600 I bought in 2008. Which by the way is still the best watch I have ever bought.

Re: Niagra Falls - lots of pictures

Was there last summer. Hadn't been since I was a kid. Canadian side was cool; US side kind of a dump. And I wasn't enamored with Buffalo. Anchor Bar was a letdown IMO. The Falls themselves are incredible. Took my U1P and it was up to the Maid of the Mist challenge.

Comment by a guy this morning: "It looks incredibly Japanese. Not that that's a bad thing." Sums it up for me. I kinda want one, but it would be nicer with more classic styling, fewer fake vents, and an MT.

Saw a new Supra in person today. It's nice, just not $50K nice IMO. I also am not sure the styling is going to date that well.
