on the positive side...I've never seen a better "buyer's market". Were you not around when Daytonas sold at 10% over MSRP in unworn condition all day on the forums and SS Rolex sports models could be bought at every dealer for a 5%-10% off and shipped out of state to save on sales tax??? ...

Love these — one of the hundred watches that I wish I would have bought when they cost $3k unpolished, mint, and complete. You have great (ie, similar to mine) taste!

I've seen the new Rolex releases from Watches & Wonders, including the stunning Air King with its sleek design and impressive features. The 40mm case and black dial make for a striking combination, and the stainless steel bracelet adds to its allure. It's definitely caught my eye!
Ok, spambot.

Movement is the La Joux-Perret L110.

The watches are in the $3730-$4170 range depending on dial color and strap/bracelet option.
Price seems reasonable, but what's the story on the movement? I haven't been paying close enough attention to watches for the last couple years to know the real deal.

Rolex jumped the shark with the TT explorer 1. They jumped back over the shark, beat it to death, and then fucked the corpse with this thing.

Re: Fifty Fathoms now in 42mm

I’ve always thought this watch looked best on a strap, so the lack of a bracelet isn’t a big deal to me. This price means owning one is just one winning lottery ticket away for me. But the x71 bracelet is sublime Except it has no microadjustment, and the one for the 45mm is heaaaavvvy. Good point. ...

These take a big hit on resale right? Now all you guys have to do is wait out the super rich guys who buy these new and get tired of them.

Why this csnt be 12-13mm thick with 20mm lugs is beyond me.

They just need to release the old series 1-2-3 watches that were 40mm. I loved those and should have bought one.

This is magnificent. I never understood why people go crazy with Daytonas when there was a (IMO) vastly superior option at a much lower price. Now that it comes in white, I will understand it even less About the only things the Daytona offers (besides the absurd wait list at Rolex ADs) is a smaller...

According to the card, it’s a Y serial. That’s no bueno for that reference. I’d suggest the guy have it checked out before selling.
Is it a "Y serial" or a random with a Y as the first digit? If the latter it's fine. The former is not.

That’s a Speedmaster actually. Overpriced but looks tasty. $10K for that Tudor is a joke. Yes. From my limited browsing, the market is getting softer and seems to be headed further in that direction. I'm starting to see vintage Subs in that $10k-$12k range, and that hasn't been the case for a while.

Re: GMT-Master II Batman or Pepsi Question

The newer 126710 lugs (still 20mm) are a bit slimmer and taper more than the 116710 (noticeably to me), so does not looks as "super" - which to me is a good thing as it feels much better proportioned. This is correct. The lugs are different, and better, but it’s not crazy noticeable and you wouldn’...

Re: First Sub for me…

I’ll say it again—16600 is my favorite watch of all time. I love 14060s, but as Jacob said they feel pretty light and a little unsubstantial on the wrist (I won’t say cheap feeling, but some might). Some may prefer that, but for me the 16600 offers a more appealing feel especially with the SELs. An...
