Re: MM300 being discontinued

I think it is probably smart for Seiko to discontinue the watch, as long as they give us something better to replace it. They have been on the market now for 15+ years mostly unchanged and is no longer the technology showcase it once was Watches in their own lineup like the SBDC051 have similar fin...

Re: Seiko 6159 reissue!!!!

Normally i am a big Seko fanboy. but, after buying a SBDX009 limited Edition Landmaster i have problems with Seiko and Le´s. Why? The tube is threaded. Mailing for 3 weeks with Seiko JP and they just told me no parts available and no chance to repair it. That is the difference to a really big playe...

Re: BLRO is discontinued

I read this wrong. I thought you meant the black/blue. I've heard the white gold Pepsi is done for too.

It was a terrible seller and they had huge watch to watch variance in the bezel colors. Some where ok and others were pink and purple.

I still like the looks of the Polaris line, but agree with Andrew that I'd never wear it like I would a Rolex. I'd prefer the less expensive Explorer 214270 and believe it would serve the owner better and for longer without issue. ================ I couldn't agree more---As I said before, Would hav...

200M "rated" diver with a divers helmet engraved on the case back on a rubber strap and with push/pull crowns is a joke to me. I've moved on. Seems like Richemont is out to ruin JLC like they did Panerai. Rolex Explorer killer, my ass

An online dealer has a NOS coke 16710 listed for $26K
Is it a 3186 watch?

I remember when everyone went crazy for the "stick dial" 16710s until it came out that those exact dials are current service replacement parts. There are very many stupid people in this hobby.

Re: Missed opportunity

Also, there are apparently genuine Rolex all brown gmt inserts floating around. I've never seen one in person, or offered for sale, but I don't doubt their existence. When the market is right, they will start floating out - like the blueberry did a few years ago.

Re: Missed opportunity

I've heard from a number of old time collectors that those replaced parts have (at least in the past) been sold out the back door.

I once saw a stack of 50 "blueberry" inserts in RSC packaging, that a buddy got from someone who worked at a RSC in Europe.

How about absence of papers? Let’s say dial, hands, bezel all check out as original. Would you wait for another opportunity given no papers? I know it’s based on level of comfort. What do you think a fold in a 40 year old piece of paper would look like? Not that nice in my experience.

I'm to the point with these sellers that I would need to send the papers to a lab to buy that they're not fake.

It's OK. The clasp has been polished a few times. It also lacks SELs if you care (I prefer them).
