Re: Down jacket ideas

I purchased a down jacket and was wondering how people wash them? Another purchase I made, due to the recommendation on this thread, was a Patagonia Nano Puff. So far it is awesome! I just bought a second nano puff after wearing mine daily for five years. I just wash my down jackets on light soil i...

I hate that sub dial seconds one above. The odd numbered hour plots make it look like a chicks watch, and the subdial couldn’t be closer to the center if you tried.

Re: Longines Heritage Military 1938

I like it a lot. It’s good looking and has a somewhat interesting movement. It’s too big for me, but at least it’s historically sized and not stupid fat.

I’d much rather have that than whatever vintage inspired watch iwc is currently selling.

Re: Hi Beat vs Spring Drive?

it lacks "soul" like a quartz That part’s true. But there’s still something about the GS Spring Drive diver that I love, despite that. They are fantastic under the radar watches, especially with the OG dial. I usually vacation or travel with mine because it’s “just a Seiko.” They don’t get magnetiz...

Spring Drive seems like the worst of both worlds - it lacks "soul" like a quartz and requires shitty expensive service like an automatic.

At least based on a historical model. Even so, it looks like a po2500 mod watch.

DLC coating isn’t a value add ever. It just ends up scratched and shitty looking.
Yeah I don’t know about trusting coatings. At least scratches in titanium and stainless steel blend in.
And if you scratch black plastic... it’s still black plastic underneath.

This watch is dumb.

Re: A $6k Helson ???

Tantalum is $218 a kilogram. It’s very expensive stuff, also highly corrosion resistant. I didn’t look at the ad but figure they probably didn’t make many. I’m sure they will sell a few and that will be all. I wouldn’t pay 6 grand for a Helson, but I applaud the uniqueness of using that metal. I ca...
