Re: SMP 2254 or 2264

Good call on the watchco. I can’t shake the fact that you could get one for $1200 not too long ago.

Re: SMP 2254 or 2264

hmmm I actually like skeleton hands.. I've had a few 2254's and I think it's a great piece (although not at the current ridiculous selling prices) but I'm sooo tired of sword hands.. I have an SmpC right now and although it's not a forum favorite by any means, it's pretty bad ass in every respect -...

They look like the jean Richards terascope (or whatever) that everyone bought and immediately flipped a couple years ago.

Re: Well this didn’t take long

I shoulda bought a 40mm explorer 2 with 3186 when they were $4500. Up until about 2 years ago, no one gave a crap about 3185 vs. 3186 from a monetary perspective. I had a 3186 Exp II without box and papers that I sold a few years ago - got reasonable value for it, but nothing out of the ordinary du...

Re: Test Drove A Telluride

Cars are expensive. I guess that’s why I drive a shit box and have a bunch of Rolex. Lol. I am not happy unless my watch costs more than the car I’m driving! Everytime I entertain the thought of upgrading from my '98 Maxima, I pause to consider: -No covered parking at my condo. -Retired, no commuti...

I have no idea who that guy is, but I'm leery of any man who wears non-wedding rings.
Are the Masonic rings ok (no I don't wear one)?
I was mostly joking.
Mostly?
Rings are #1

Re: Beware: Swiss Customs Targeting Baselworld 2019 Attendees

Just to add to my statement above, one thing this guy's story has me thinking about is how many watches I'm going to bring to Ireland in June. I was thinking of a meet-up with some Irish fellow watch nerds and bringing a couple for the GTG, but hearing this guy's tale of woe has given me second tho...

I have no idea who that guy is, but I'm leery of any man who wears non-wedding rings. You should Google "Wei Koh Rolex Passion Report". There was a whole "dust-up" at Basel relating to Koh calling out RPR for revealing the Rolex/Tudor new releases a day early. They should fight it out. It would loo...

Those are pretty nice looking, but that meatspin case back combined with the goatse symbol is a bridge too far.

Re: Beware: Swiss Customs Targeting Baselworld 2019 Attendees

Definitely. I'm also not comfortable with hammering some watch dork by claiming his personal collection was imported for commercial use. However, thinking back to the "Wolf of Wall Street" movie, It would be a lot easier to smuggle five one million dollar Pateks than it would be to tape $5,000,000 c...

Every county should start hammering people who hand carry watches across borders. Some watches are a perfect way to illegally move money around the globe.

Re: Seiko Basel 2019

I hate that Seiko puts “Presage” on their Presage line. Not sure why, as I don’t particularly hate “Sea-Dweller” or “Seamaster”. I always think the way it’s been displayed is a bit clumsy. Me too. It's a really classy looking watch, shitted up by three lines of text in three different fonts. A Sub ...

OK, now I remember why I didn't buy that really nice looking first Seiko LE that Art/Hoppy/Ben had. A 19mm lug spacing SUCKS ASS if you need a short strap. There are like two off the shelf options in the world.
