Ball. Especially the deepquest Funny, I'd have thought their worst would be the "skin diver." "Whatcha wearing honey?" "Oh this? It's just my Ballskin-diver." That’s got to be the craziest one. I can’t believe they picked that name for it. At least they don’t market it as a ladies’ watch.

Re: Seiko SUN025 - Kinetic GMT

Battery changes on Seiko Kinetics are typically required every six months. They need to be sent to Seiko in Japan, there's only one technician who can work on them. He's at the Nu-gi Service Center and his name Nubi Nointro.

Smaller Astron Dual Time

Sort of a niche product kinda thing, but Seiko has reduced the Astron Dual Time by a couple mm.

A visit to an AD in AD

So, I took the blonde out for a retail day at Yas Mall in Abu Dhabi. She went off to look at God knows what, and I cruised over to the Rolex/Tudor shop. I didn’t look at Rolex, so I can’t say whether the shortages/price gouging you guys are talking about in the US is going on here as well. On the Tu...

Re: "C" Type Balance issue

I had a SARB035 with the 6r15 that ran about -40 a day. Drove me nuts. Nobody was able to regulate the thing. Off to a good home. On the other hand, my SARY057 with the 4r36 is rock solid and insanely accurate. I have had great luck with the 4r36's for sure. All have been great since I have learned...

Re: Anyone picked up or planning to pick up the new iPhone?

8 doesn’t do dual sim. One phone that runs both Verizon and Etisalat would be a big deal for me.

I know I’ll be assimilated. I’m just an old guy so I figure I should bitch about it first, then roll over.

Re: Anyone picked up or planning to pick up the new iPhone?

I don’t really want to upgrade, but I’m locked into the Apple ecosystem and dual Sim capability is a real plus for me. I just wish they’d get a grip on sizes. My 7 is about as big as I ever want to go for front pocket carry. Hell, I still have an SE I swap over to every now and then to remind mysel...

Central A/C we have, but they really don't put in heating systems in this country. Don't need it, never gets that cool. Ever.

Tudor GMT vs Rolex GMT

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=0OnXiaSizXE There are a few of these videos out there with head to head comparisons. You can probably watch them all with the sound off and get the most out of them. Eye opening to me. What surprises me the most is, for me, on a completely price and name value independe...

Re: Physical Oceanography/Applied Physics

I love Google, it’s a crutch for tired memory. I knew there was a simple calc for dynamic pressure of water based on velocity. Very short form example is 69.5 psi is the dynamic pressure of water at 70 mph. So, if you jump out of a car on the freeway into a lake, you’ll see a pressure spike of 69.5...

Re: Physical Oceanography/Applied Physics

Anywaaaaaayy, Static pressure at 300 meters is about 441 psi. Add the 25% for wet testing as a dive watch and we see 551 psi as a static test pressure. Even if you’re a hood ornament on a 688, you could safely go to test depth at a flank bell and the watch would be fine, but I doubt even Paul would...

So, take a perfectly innocent 1861 Speedy, paint it up like a triple date only without the functionality, and call it a win? Nah.
