And they’ll produce a bunch and flood the dealers to distract from the GMT date wheel fiasco.

Re: New Tudor Sub?

Tudor can tease all they want, and they do make some great watches. But, if they can't produce, what's the point? I still haven't seen a GMT in the flesh at any of the half dozen Rolex/Tudor dealers in the capital of one of the richest countries on Earth.

If I really had to do this, I guess it would be Apple watch and an SKX007.

Beautiful and awesome. I'm currently looking at a Caterham for the same reasons as a retirement gift to myself. Yeah, same here. Blondie’s anti-motorcycle so a Caterham 7 in BRG is gonna be my retirement toy. Opening sequence of The Prisoner sold it for me. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=z0rio3IPXXU

Are we that busy that if you don’t have a winder for your autos or it’s a mechanical, that taking 30 seconds or so to set it is an issue?

Ahhhhh, screw it

I’m pretty sure I’ve decided to go all quartz. Wind it, set it (is it morning or afternoon? Take a full run around the dial to be sure). Just don’t do it between 8 PM and 4 AM. Or grab an SKX and shake for about 10 minutes to give it a decent wind. Grab and go? Nope, gotta wind it and set it first. ...

Re: New Anonimo Nautilo Vintage

Tom, I have to say I do like that one as a watch. As a classic Anonimo fan, the only hint I see is in the crown guard. The price is a bit steep, but I’m not a Sellita hater like some. They make as good a Swiss movement as ETA, just not for a zillion years.

I wouldn’t mind seeing a BB or BB58 black dial/black bezel without the gilt. Yeah, I know, that turns it into a Sub wannabe, but I’d still like it.

This is the second I believe. Still better than The Rolling Stones, they’ve been doing their farewell tour since 1980.
Pretty sure Steel Wheelchairs was their farewell tour.

I tend to wear my no date's on weekends and vacation when I don't really care what day it is.
I’m thinking this. A no-date will be my retirement watch.

No date watches

Might be a strange question, but how do you guys who wear no-date watches cope? Especially those of you who transitioned from one with a date. I’m asking because I’ve always been a “must have a date” kinda guy,but there sure are some awesome no-date watches out there - Pams, Speedies, BB58, and so on.

Ok, I’m old. I don’t get how an aluminum wallet works for butt pocket carry. A leather wallet conforms to your butt, aluminum looks like it would just dig into your ass.

Best watch related thing that happened to me was this one going wonky before it got sold. Once it came back from service, I started wearing it and now it's pretty much my every single day watch.

Re: Starter straight razor?

A couple more thoughts on straight razors. It might be my Aspergers or just getting older, but I do appreciate routines that have a little bit of ritual and detail built into them. I find the sequence of steps involved in mug/brush/soap/ safety razor somewhat centering in the mornings. That said, wh...

Re: Starter straight razor?

I used a straight razor for a bit. It’s tough to get a hang of and takes time. I ended up using a safety razor. And I love it. It’s a merkur, I bought a pack of 100 Feather blades for about $20 on Amazon. The standard 3,5,12 blade razors are just a huge waste of money. That’s where I am. Merkur Fut...
