Be nice to see them put that kind of effort into the submarine service in WW2.DocHollidayDDS wrote: ↑Fri Feb 09, 2024 10:49 pmWatched the first two episodes tonight, good stuff.
But I figured it would be solid since it’s exec produced by the same folks who brought us Band of Brothers and The Pacific.

Re: Need help on Tritium PIP/DOT
I would be more concerned about the legal ramifications of messing about with NRC licensed materials. Part of the mfg license is the idea of not being serviceable or breakable by the end user. Whoa whoa easy buddie, when we talking about nucklear and toxic pollution, dose is a very important fact, ...

If I had this watch, I’d carry a loupe just to admire the detail on a rocket model that’s maybe 1/4” long.

Forstner for Seamaster
It would be nice if Forstner did an adjustable clasp for their bracelets. They have a few for the Seamaster with a nice taper down to 16mm, but I don’t want to give up the easily adjustable clasp on the OEM bracelet.

Re: School Me on Joma Shop
Thanks for the replies! Since UN offers a 5 year warranty if bought from "proper" channels, I might not want to chance the steep discount and no manufacturer warranty from a gray dealer. That was one thing that had me worried when I saw their price on my Seamaster. I called Topper’s and told Jay wh...

The other flip side is property taxes are nuts. Too many Massholes moving to southern NH and expecting the same stuff they left behind but without sales or income taxes.

Slow Horses anyone?
I haven’t started watching it yet, but I’m loving the books, Slough House series by Mick Herron. My new favorite quote ever “You look like you spent half the night getting gang-raped and the other half writing thank you notes.” Jackson Lamb is my new role model.
So, is the TV version any good?

Ya know, every time I see a private seller pic with the case back off, I shudder a little bit. More when it’s a “new” watch.

Stupid pet tricks - Seamaster Edition
Some of you know I got a brand new Seamaster Pro as my more or less retirement/exit/etc. watch. I also mentioned the bezel was near useless because it was so tight as to be about impossible to turn. A lot of folks have this complaint about the scalloped edge bezel. So, I took it to the nearest AD an...

I’ve been doing this for years - have two sinn’s set up that way now. Never had any issues :) You sir, are a smart man. Personally, I’d question the wisdom of anyone who spends time on the outside of a submerged submarine. Lol Henry - just saw this. Coincidentally, rolling out tomorrow to do exactl...

Re: Someone school me on roasting coffee
I truly do appreciate a really good coffee done right. I have to say, though, I’m not sure how this computes with 0500, it’s dead nuts dark out, and I need anti-murder juice to get ready for work. There are days I cuss out my Keurig for being too slow.

Good call, Matt. That M-G SAR is an amazing watch. I had the dive bezel version some years back and it was tougher than I was. Of course, I could say that about a decent vindaloo these days.
