Re: A personal hyperbaric chamber

Dear Charlie (May I call you Charlie? Your name sounds Vietnamese), We’re going to need more info, such as a link to the website where we can enter our bank details for donations. Pictures of the girl would help, and if she has a cute puppy, well then she’d be rolling in money. One more question. Yo...

Re: Tudor Military Subs - Sounds like lots of fakes out there

I have a genuine early 70s hand wind Vulcain that I can personally verify was worn by a genuine Engine Room Supervisor on a genuine nuclear submarine making genuine deterrent patrols with (maybe) genuine nuclear tipped missiles. It even has a genuine acrylic crystal cracked on a nuclear plant hand w...

It’s the offset inner bezel that reminded me that there are +-15, 30, and 45 and minute time zones out there. All th...

Re: Fake Turtle's!

I'm pretty ignorant about Seikos in general, but aren't the authentic versions of these watches about $300? If so, why on earth would anyone entertain the idea of buying a fake? who said the buyer knew it was a fake? but drew you have to remember not everyone is cool with paying $300 for a watch. s...

Even in the pictures, a red date wheel is harder to read quickly than white. If it’s about functionality, white on black beats red any day. At night, under red light, the date would completely disappear.

It looks to me like I could make one of them out of fittings from the plumbing aisle at Home Depot and a couple cans of Krylon. Source a movement from the dashboard clock of a Nepalese fire truck, and it’s a license to print money.

I buzzed around with a Blade MCx (I think) for a while. Mini coaxial helo. It’s an indoor only bird, but surprisingly challenging to fly well. A hoot to fly, the cat hated it.

Of course, I started joining watch forums to find information, way back when. We have unwritten rules and expectations here that all us old hands ...

Re: HELP! Can't Identify This Watch!

It’s a basic Seiko quartz style. Probably just a custom face made as a company gift. That’s what I was thinking. The last U.S. five star was Omar Bradley, who died in 1981. I kinda doubt anyone would set up a pretty ordinary Seiko quartz gold tone watch from Seiko’s “look like a Rolex” years as a g...
