Re: Recommendations for parts & service for vintage Sub
Bob Ridley in TX if he hasnt retired. He serviced a vintage Tudor I had and was super easy to work with. Was considered one of the best back in the day. I've heard good things about Rik Dietel in FL. If its a vintage sub I'd make sure you go for one of the more highly recommended folks even if it co...

Re: Interesting HODINKEE article describing the “middle class” of watches.
For sure. Just made me realize I should kept my GMT! This line hurt... :crybaby: ... a Rolex GMT-Master ref. 1675 would cost you $1,450 in 1986, That’s just great marketing. I mean a modern GMT II at $10,750 is technically a better watch than a 1675, but is it $6K better? ($4K adjusted 1675 price ve...

Re: Interesting HODINKEE article describing the “middle class” of watches.
Reminds me of that old quote ... "the first half of your life is ruined by your parents, the second half by your kids" i live in a fairly expensive place (DC metro) and am solidly middle class. but... we don't have any kids. Key point. Holy crap they are expensive....fun to make, expensive to ...

Re: Your “Dad’s watch”
Good question. Probably my Explorer 1 which at 36mm is a good size for my daughter. The problem is I have twins so I guess i'll have to buy another lol.
For me, I have my dad's Longines. Break it out a couple times a year, usually around is birthday or fathers day.

Re: best way to save photo's form a computer
Assuming your old computer has a USB port go pick up an external usb drive which are now fairly pretty cheap. Drag and drop to that and then plug that into the new computer and move over. I’d keep the pics on the drive as backup. When you’re done be sure to go into your computers settings and do a f...

I keep a small collection (typ 3-4) so its fairly easy. Like others said, I just pick one out during the work week.
On weekends its either my quartz Seiko or a G-Shock.

Re: The Gray Man
But not as good as the books. That's what I thought after seeing the trailer. They changed some things that they didnt need to IMO. For example, Fitzroy is an American vs a Brit. Gentry is a CIA asset vs an ex-asset/hitman on the run from the CIA. Etc. Kind of annoying is you like the story in the ...
