Re: Oris Aquis New York Harbor L.E.

I like this dial treatment quite a bit. Oris is one of those brands that produce a lot of cool stuff, but most is just not quite compelling enough to make me lose sight of other things on my radar at any given time. That said, I think their recent Aquis efforts are starting to erode my willpower.

They nailed this one. I am warming up to the cyclops. How is the fit of the bracelet at the case?

Hi Deena, and welcome. Happy to see that you are not a bot. (or...ARE you..??!)

In any event, this is def one of the better places to pull up a chair and set for a spell. Lot's of knowledge here.

That is a stunner, no doubt. It's great to see it side by side with the Rolex. Gives one a good sense of the real dimensions.

Re: Mr. Yao Crackpot's new release - Tornek Rayville

Why bother? Aren’t there a half dozen other brands that make an equivalent that will ship within a few days? Oh, sorry. The other brands don’t have the hands on dedication or craftsmanship. Hahahahaha! Nailed it. I like the looks but was bummed to hear that Yao is behind it. I'm sure he's a nice gu...

Re: Do you still have the watch that got you started

A TAG/Heuer 4000 was my first "nice" watch, from about 22 years ago. I still have it and wear it in rotation. It's pretty cool. Okay, it's super uncool... but it was a gift from my then-new (and still) wife.

Re: Bond Seamaster LE

I'd be okay with it if they'd delete the stupid faux rifling pattern on the dial. It's atrocious. The gold handset and indices are cool, and the crest at 12 is low-key. The dial kills it.

38hour pr. Can’t believe that’s still an option these day’s.

My deep sea vintage chrono is 65hrs. My NSA is 44hrs, and these are 7-9 year old designs now.

Used around 4K I’d love to own one.
Right..?! A JLC, for that kind of money, should probably offer something more than a 2824.

Re: Hodinkee/Blancpain 07/17/19

With the apparent popularity of the newer 40mm Blancpain models I can see something like a TTFF in 40mm. Whatever it is it’ll be expensive and sell out immediately. It could be a knock off of the new BP "one watch". That would be an instant sell out. Yea, I could see a faux-patina ‘dink version bei...

Thoughts? Love the speedy pro (I’ve had 3 or 4) and seriously jonesing for another, but since they used to cost 2300 bucks not that long ago and have now exponentially increased in price, I’m thinking of picking up a reduced version. I have a 7” wrists so the size seems fine, but does anyone here e...

Dude is a good guy and he's definitely doing good things here in LA. At 42mm this watch wears ginormous, sadly. I'd like to put an eyeball on his 38mm watch, though.
