Re: Winfield Watch Company

I personally LOVE date windows at 4:30. Keeps the dial hour marker symmetry. This. Putting it at 6 (or elsewhere) destroys the symmetry of the markers/numerals/indices/whatever. Especially in low light situations where the lume is then missing or vastly reduced at that location. No date is perfect ...

Re: Oris + Hodinkee collaboration 6-26-19

As I've said before, I have no problem with someone trying to make a profit, but this is just like what happened with the Alpinist LE. It's such a dick move. And it goes beyond this. I saw a well-known second hand dealer recently list a pre-owned Tudor BB GMT for $4,750. It just seems like dealers ...

Re: Oris + Hodinkee collaboration 6-26-19

well that 40mm is non-starter for me 'cause it's the smallest 40mm watch I've had on my wrist but regardless I'd rather have a blue dial model for 1K from Jomashop

Re: CrafterBlue straps for Seiko Turtles? Yes [emoji106] or No[emoji107]

Gave one a try. It’s a quality rubber strap but the curvature of the fitted lugs is too tight on my wrist. I changed the keeper to a generic rubber one I had from some old rubber strap because that metal keeper is ridiculous

Re: Anyone got a line on a new Sub?

I can’t believe that a regular boring fat case sub is hard to find. Agree. It's not a case that's going to age well IMO. Agreed, dumped mine in less than a year. It had some decent angles where the lugs weren’t too obvious but overall it was terrible. And on straps those lugs were even more pronoun...

The good news is that you don’t have to mod a Turtle. Just wait and Seiko will probably make a version of Turtle you were going to mod to

I can’t imagine any normal watch guy buys a watch like this for long term ownership. A quick try and flip? Sure, maybe. I’m going to own this for more than six months? Nah.
