Re: Damasko DH1.0

Damasko is one of the best makers going, IMHO. They have their own unique look, and the technology / innovation you get is crazy given the reasonable prices. I love my Damasko - one of the only modern watches I still have.

Funny, I just started seeing their commercials on television....

Seeing as the watches look to be garbage, I was wondering how they had the funds to run a national television advertising campaign. Just goes to show you that savvy marketing and brand positioning can go a long way. There are dozens of newer brands / micros making far superior watches at this price ...

Nobody else is doing what these guys are doing anywhere near their price point. Love their watches.

Congratulations.

A ton of innovation packed into that timepiece, and also just flat out great-looking.

Well done.

Pelagos, Pelagos, Pelagos......

and it's not particularly close. Bremont, at least to me, is a lot of fluff, marketing, silly historical tie-ins and expense and very little substance. No interest in their watches whatsoever.

The Pelagos is just the opposite.

My 2 cents.

I feel the same way as the hive mind here.....

GS has so much potential, but they just continue to put out uninspired designs. I would love to see some of Seiko's interesting heritage in their modern watches. Movements are great, finishing is great, history is there, but just meh on the watches.

Looks nice, although a re-issue of the 200M....

would be preferable IMHO.

Nice diver though.

Maybe the worst date ever???

One would be hard-pressed to ruin a dial any more than this one is ruined by the date function. I suppose they could have enlarged it to cover half the dial or something like that.

Big pass.......

I don't like it at 7k, and I wouldn't like it at $1k.

Not for me.

No go for me.....

Steinhart is at their best when they create interesting vintage-inspired designs. Their craftmanship and movements "punch well above their weight class", as I think they are some of the best bargains available anywhere.

When they copy Rolex, I find them a lot less interesting.

Want to like it, but....

can't. Don't like the logo, date or hands. I agree the Aegir would be the way to go if you wanted this look.

I like that it is not an exact copy of the original, however

the date is abysmal. I still can't figure out why these watch companies feel compelled to add date functions to hommage timepieces such as this one. Longines also can't seem to help themselves.

Without the date would be an interesting modern option.

I have never been a fan of these types of gimmick watches, b

I'm not sure I understand why this one is worse than any of the others. Take Bremont, for example. How many watches have they launched with ho-hum, pedestrian movements that include a piece of an airplane, an airplane seat, etc.? Others are "inspired" by random aviators or vintage airplanes. Extremely well done. IMHO, the best Nomos yet, and the best of your limited editions. Size, dial color and, especially, the lack of the date, make this a huge winner.

Nothing I would change on this one.
