Re: The New Longines Spirit Collection

I also imagine the movement is based on the 7750 so it may be too thick? Not sure if it's 7750 based. According to the Monochrome article: Powering this version is an interesting movement, Longines’ proprietary automatic column-wheel chronograph movement – again, a highly-modified ETA base, with th...

The New Longines Spirit Collection

A new line of pilot watches from Longines, including a three-hander and a chronograph, in a variety of dial colors. The three-hander is available in 40mm and 42mm sizes, the chronograph is only available in 42mm. I like the chronograph quite a bit. https://k8q7r7a2.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/upload...

The 45.5mm PO 2500 series is the most wearable large watch (44mm or larger) that I have ever owned. And I’ve owned pretty much everything larger than 40mm under $20k.
Agreed, mine wears very well on my 7" wrist.

Re: iPhone to Android?

Late to this thread but my two cents... I love Android but think that Google's hardware is inferior to Apple's. I'd go so far as to call it crap, IME. I've had more trouble with my Pixel than I've ever had with previous iPhones. The screen is delicate, the camera went belly up and the charger cable ...

Re: Is it just me?

The DWC hosting provider had intermittent server issues today. The site was offline a few times throughout the day but I'm not seeing any issues at the moment. But they said to expect continued intermittent issues while they sorted things out so that may be what you're running into. Hopefully things...

Re: Any regrets from Cord Cutters?

We still have Hulu,. Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. To be honest I watch YouTube videos 95% of the time and could probably eliminate one or more of the services we currently have. Still less than we were paying for DirecTV, though.

Re: New Sinn Models For BaselWorld 2020

Maybe I'm in the minority but a smaller U1 and some dressier Sinn watches (does anyone buy those?) strikes me as a pretty lacklustre announcement. I'm sure the U50 will be a good seller, but I'm kind of disappointed in the lack of anything really new or interesting here.

I tend to like Doxa because they have a vintage vibe and this is the opposite of that.
+1 this doesn't have the usual DOXA DNA that draws me to the brand. I much prefer their more vintage-inspired steel models.

Re: New 40mm IWC Portugieser

The blue is awesome. I’ve worn the original and love it, no size issue. Definitely not your grannies bloomers, unless you’re into that sort of thing. I love the original as well and almost bought it, but felt it wore a bit like a dinner plate on my wrist. I went with the GO Senator Observer instead...

New 40mm IWC Portugieser

This may be a welcome release to those who find that the 'standard' Portugieser wears too large. This new release is 40mm with an in-house movement (automatic 82200) and comes in several dial/hand color combinations. Priced at $7250 in steel. https://hodinkee.imgix.net/uploads/images/1587743030979-e...

Those look great, although they might be a bit small for me. I understand that they probably wanted to go for 'vintage' dimensions, though.

Don't ask me why, but I've been engrossed in these videos recently: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLKHImo8xtEfj0_7CyAnEuJItT-FwsFgMi I find them a fascinating study of human nature since most of the accidents are a result of human error/stubbornness/stupidity, even when the pilots are season...

It looks great save for the shit fake aged lume. I can’t stand this any more. What’s the problem with white markers? Apparently the case is 40mm, the bezel is 41mm. Hodinkee is reporting the watch's size as 41mm.
