Re: White dial Hamilton Khaki Field reissue
That's a nice price on the white dial. If I didn't already have the black dial I'd go for it.

Re: AP 15500
Thanks, all. Hanging on to 49 for a couple more months so would have to get really lucky. It’s the watch worth waiting for, for me. Will have some nice pieces to sell after that happens! I did call Chicago and Atlanta so fingers crossed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk You might want to call Veg...

Re: AP 15500
AP has reduced their dealer network in the US in favor of their own boutiques. The two dealers that were local to me no longer carry the brand, and the closest boutique is over 300 miles away. The only thing I can think of is to call the US boutiques and put your name on their waiting lists. Sorry I...

Re: IWC Tribute to 3705
I don't see the big deal. Not a big deal. It's a watch, not life or death. I just think so many other brands do a much better job than IWC when it comes to 'Tribute' or reissue models. In my opinion, IWC comes across as either lazy, arrogant, or out of touch with what collectors want. And if these ...

Re: IWC Tribute to 3705
If you can live without a ceramic case, I'd track down a nice example of the 3706. You get the real deal with the classic dial for a fraction of the price. Or, go for the new Spitfire Chronograph for $6K with the same in-house movement as the 3705 Tribute. This was the easy answer for me. The 3777-...

It's official...

Unfortunately, I think they screwed up the dial. But the price is better than rumored, $11,900.

Re: New Hodinkee Collaboration w/ TAG Heuer
I know I've said this before, but these Hodinkee collabs must be mostly pre-sold. I could be wrong, of course, but I find it really hard to believe that they sold 250 Tag Heuers at $7250 a pop in an hour or two. BTW this LE is still available for $6450 with the same movement, and is even better loo...

Re: Omega 300m white ceramic question.
I was in the only Omega AD in town yesterday, and tried on a Seamaster 300m White ceramic dial with bracelet. I liked it! My question is about price, The AD offered a discounted price of $4440.00, is that a good price for this watch? Touch base with Rob at Topper's to see what he can do. I bought m...

Re: New Hodinkee Collaboration w/ IWC
So, a curveball. The Hodinkee collaboration is with Tag Heuer and is apparently an all-black 60s era chrono with Heuer branding. Link to short video: TAG Heuer x HODINKEE https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/wanna-be-the-first-to-know-about-our-next-limited-edition So I guess their IG post was just to...

Re: Rolex Wants Microbrand's Trademark
I dug up a few photos of Kriger watches. I wonder if Rolex would be so aggressively pursuing the trademark issue if Kriger wasn't making Rolex/Tudor knockoffs. Yeah, lots of other microbrands do it but the use of a name like Milsub that is commonly associated with Rolex watches may have rubbed a bit...

Re: New Hodinkee Collaboration w/ IWC
They didn’t need to “ceramicize” the crowns if they wanted it to look authentic. And again the whole case should have just been ceramic for $7-8K. Also I like old school numerals better, 1, 10, 11 in particular the European way of writing number 1 https://media.fotki.com/2v2HMrgvexAqZad.jpg If that...

Re: New Hodinkee Collaboration w/ IWC
Looks like details and pics are starting to leak out, although there's no indication this is a collaboration with Hodinkee. In-house chronograph movement, 41mm x 15.3mm Ceratanium case, limited ro 1000 pcs, available for online purchase only. At ~$15K I think that's going to be a hard pass. https://...

Here's a few pilot strap options that might work well on the Big Eye: IWC Style Pilot Strap https://i2.wp.com/strapsense.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/DSC00869.jpg Riveted Pilot Strap https://d33wubrfki0l68.cloudfront.net/08e5e20e725d0e83fb3f8489e7a0002ea3109fa5/12d73/images/post/bigeye/longines-b...
