Re: EZM1 & Silva Thumb Compass

My year was 30-36-44-44-39 miles per day; they added a day this year, but also about 40 miles as well! How did you train for this? Lots of long hill...

EZM1 & Silva Thumb Compass
Just back from a week of mountain running in Wales, the weather was superb, sight-lines good but a gnarly 5 days for sure, covering 200 miles including 15Km of ascent. My main instruments were the EZM1 and the Silva thumb compass; both pared down to offer uncluttered quick reading for a specific pur...

Re: A Great Light Has Gone Out - R.I.P. Helmut Sinn
A great character and some great, practical, functional watches without getting your pants pulled down, much like the much overlooked Guinand. RIP indeed!

Re: WRUW 16 Jan 18
Took this one out for a play today - Brilliant. Love it. What does the text mean? 'Regulated ['reguliert'] for Sidereal ['sternzeit' = 'star time'] time', which is about 4 mins a day slower than usual; used for astro-navigation for artillery units. huh, learned sorting new today probably a dumb que...

Re: Introducing the Sinn EZM 1.1 Limited Edition
Funny thing with the pricing of EZMs; it's probably the only watch I've got that hasn't meteored [don't take it the wrong way - any price increases are coincidental rather than planned!] - OK, probably £2-300-ish increase from what the market was back in 2009 when I got my first, but nothing like th...

Re: Damasko DC 80 - Player 2 has joined the game
Fromthe EZM1.1 post: ...Competition? Well, there's the cheaper, arguably 'better' original and the coincidentally about to be released Damasko DC80; the DC80 has a totally different look to it - more Sinn U1 than EZM with it's more 'modern', flat styling, but what grates with me about it is the 'unn...

Re: Introducing the Sinn EZM 1.1 Limited Edition
(Cheers Ben!) I think if you look at it in the context of a 're-issue' and compare to other recent re-issues such as the Pelagos, the Heuer Carrera, Skipper and the Zenith Cairelli then it stands up well - it still retains the primary design features that make the watch unique and hasn't over-egged ...

Re: Finally Got My Perfect Everyday Wearer
Nice one - a rare beasty for sure, I'm looking for a nice 3H at a good price...or a ZTZ of course! Worn my LE for about 6 years solid now...does that make me a watch bore :) A couple of ZUZ for you - Sinn & Tutima; http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-cGgCMz_2MAo/VBbdt2joWDI/AAAAAAAAAlQ/CtZ-Btr5uOw/s1600/photo...

Re: Tissot Navigator Lemania 1343
The Tissot was the only watch using the Lemania 1343 movement - in two versions as below (Courtesy 'Gary') http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g38/GaryLittle/Tissot%20Navigator%20L1343%20silver%20dial/D20_3758.jpg The 5100/5012 is a different family altogether, the 1340/41/43 movement family is a lot ...

Re: Tissot Navigator Lemania 1343
The movement was only used in this particular model of Tissot; the black and white faced versions. It's a very nice minimal chronograph - here's mine - http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-voGtUF8xB2g/T6_O9LgFZ4I/AAAAAAAAAF8/SLKhJJ0DtM0/s1600/TO1.jpg http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Y8L9P7qiGDs/T6_PDC2EPSI/AAAAAAAAAG...
