Re: Rolex, Tudor, Patek Philippe, Chanel, And Chopard Leave Baselworld

Rip Baselworld. I wish I had been there to see it once in its glory days. Kind of like the auto shows. Nice to see once or twice. Now they are dead too. Coming soon to a mall near you - nothing. They will be gone before long.

Re: F my luck - Jomashop!

Don't blame Jomashop. They don't make the watch. It's just a minor adjustment. Let them fix it. I bought my wife a new Rolex from an AD. It was running fast. I took it in to the AD and it was fine in 20 minutes. I think magnetized. Anyway it runs near perfect now. Shit happens.

Can't go wrong with Cartier tank. I had a nice Patek Quartz nautilus a few months ago that would have been perfect. They make it in TT. It's not rectangular but has the snob factor. Probably too expensive even used. Cartier is the easy choice and it's a solid winner.

I don't like anything about it. And I've owned several SM500's that I actually wore for a while. Maybe I'm just a fanboy gone ex fanboy.

The beaded bezel is taken from the original 806 Navitimers. Those were chronographs however.

I had the gray dial version. I wore it for about 6 months. Really nice. You can't knock the quality or the in house movement. GO big date is very well executed.

Ok design. If you are looking for a made in Sweden watch then it's got to be considered. Otherwise it's very pricey.

Juan you got the really nice one. Full kit one owner watch and covered under IWC warranty. The former owner lost the service receipt. When I called iwc to verify it was serviced they told me it was and that it is covered under their warranty even without having the receipt. They said they have the r...

Re: New Tudor Pelagos or Bremont Supermarine

So many interesting comments. If I was going to change the SM500 I would get rid of the day and make it thinner. I enjoyed wearing mine on a nice leather strap. Matt shows several great examples. I had the SM2000 and it was slightly big for me.

Re: New Tudor Pelagos or Bremont Supermarine

I will be the contrarian. I like everything about the pelagos. I got one and wore it twice before I said goodbye to it. The bremont sm500 I kept about 6 months. Twice. Both are very well made with ETA movements. New Pelagos has the in house. So I prefer the Bremont. I had a blue Pelagos and I can't ...

I had that PML recently. It was the nicest one I've ever had. And I've had every one they make in SS. The old blue version cannot hold a candle to this new one. Resale has always been strong for the PMLs

Am I the only one who likes this? I always thought the Auto/Ecozilla was a monstrosity. But covering some of it up with diamonds or whatever those are is a vast improvement IMO. I still wouldn't wear it but it makes a statement.

Re: New Blancpain Bathyscaphe Flyback OC LE

I have had a few ceramic watches and they remind me of plastic. A very hard durable plastic but still plastic. I thought I would like them but after 24 hours I had enough. Blue is even more plasticky IMO. Really a blue case? Just because it's possible to make something doesn't mean you should.
