Re: Aqua Dive Bronze BS 100 on brown Isofrane strap

You're right about the swap, ceramic bezel inserts are much more tricky to replace than aluminum inserts. The watch case has already begun a patina, its a different look than what it was out of the case. I like the patina on bronze, which is why I went with a bronze diver, but I confess I like the c...

Re: Aqua Dive Bronze BS 100 on brown Isofrane strap

Thanks Tom. The patina has started already, I see some oxidation starting around the edges. I've seen some pretty cool looking results online, on Anonimo, Pams and Ennebi. It'll be interesting to see how this one oxidizes, since the alloy is a bit different I'm told than straight CuSn8. Excellent wa...

Re: Aqua Dive Bronze BS 100 on brown Isofrane strap

I contacted AD, they agreed the lume wasn't done right on that bezel, so they've offered either to switch the bezel or if I don't want to send the watch back, they'll send me a new bezel insert gratis. I've done bezel insert switches before, so I might attempt this as opposed to shipping back to Eur...

Re: Aqua Dive Bronze BS 100 on brown Isofrane strap

I may send the company an e-mail, but to send it back and all the fuss and bother for that....feh. No, I'll live with it I think. Probably an even heavier blob of lume than the usual, if you're a glass-half-full kinda guy. Print quality on the dial is sound, the rest of the details, from the credit-...

Aqua Dive Bronze BS 100 on brown Isofrane strap

Overview: I received my bronze Aqua Dive (AD) BS 100 today by FedEx. Unbelievably, the watch was shipped from Vienna, Austria on August 6 on I am receiving it August 8, so no undue waiting in my opinion. Steve Hughes answered many questions in the initial stages of my research, and was quite availab...

Re: Enter the Bronze

One of the very best bronze pieces I've seen to date, and that's me with a bronze Aquadive inbound. That thing is absolutely amazing in every way, takes simplicity to a new height. Amazing.

Have always loved the Wayfarer. I don't like busy dials, but this one really floats my boat.

Re: Montreal

Chateau D'Ivoire is a great shop, and is located on De La Montagne. Do ask for discounts if you are able to pay cash. A block west of the Chateau is Crescent Street, which has Matt Bailey, with a number of choices new and used. If you're close enough to Montreal, also consider Ottawa and the Jubilee...

Very cool that your AD was on the Toshi site too. He does great work. I'll definitely go with another strap from him in the future. He does great work, very good customer service too.

Re: New membner

I don't get Kobold... I know. Some people I talk to don't get watches in general, its all personal taste. I like the big, legible dial and the overall heavy construction of the case. Its a specific look that I have enjoyed for years, but am considering flipping for a Sinn. Its been a solid and reli...

Re: New membner

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, your watches are ruined. They are all scratched up, almost like you actually wear them, who the hell does that! I know, what was I thinking, right? The Rolex GMT is one of my favorites, I have all three authentic bezel inserts, but it was sold as a Pepsi...

Re: New membner

I find it wears heavy, being a lot of mass in a smaller diameter. That said, its well designed; you can get the bezel to turn with wet gloves on, it is rugged and able to take a hit and keep on going, and it has a certain Deutsche-Bauhaus style to it that makes it unique among so many other divers. ...

Thanks Mike......that UTS Munchen just has to be one of the best subjects for watch photography. The sandblasted surface makes it look exceptional from every angle.

Would be very willing to add another UTS to the stable......great watches.
