Re: Possibly the World's Most Ridiculous Dive Watch

Hi all,

It looks Roger Dubois and Richard Mille round diver watches had a sordid affair that resulted in this B******ised thing. Also WTF is a self correcting date function? not that I really want to know or care.

Re: Vacheron Constantin Trade-in Program

Hi all, Before Watchfinder got bought by Richemont they were actually in my experience very good and quite fair in what they offered and what they sold watches for and I had done a couple of deals with them. However since their new ownership I can no longer say that or recommend them they really do ...

Re: iPhone to Android?

Hi all, I know everyone's use and therefore experience of a phone is different but I have had my Pixel 2 for a little over 3 years now and it was put in a Spigen case from day one and is still mint all this time later. I still get well over a full day on a charge and when I take the case off to get ...

Re: Omega Dark Side of the Moon Apollo 8 Review

@dukerules and all, I think the issue of a ceramic watch shattering whilst of course possible has been highly over rated as whilst I am sure we have all seen the few examples of broken ceramic watches they are the exception. After so many years now if this really was an issue we would of seen a lot ...

Re: Omega Dark Side of the Moon Apollo 8 Review

Hi Timeless and all, Firstly thanks for that really well thought out and comprehensive review. I actually bought this watch my first new modern era Omega and the first Omega I could put on the wrist and not think F**k that's way too thick. I have to say though while 44.25mm does sound large due to i...

@logan2z Well not so much a buck more like $14,875 to be precise, someone tried to tell me Hodinkee are all about the "The Collector" whilst I really think they are about the $$$$$'s and the cool hip look at me I'm rich and better then you crowd IMHO. It sure is nothing like it was when it was actua...

Re: Need an opinion on a Speedy Pro

@Henryj I think that trade is all full of win as already mentioned that is a great looking speedy dial and handset combo probably one of the best and even if not original looks great IMHO. Plus as you are getting the original dial and hands you can always swap them back and the Gemini dial and hands...

Speedmaster Apollo 8 Dark Side of the Moon

Hi all, I was lucky to have managed to pick mine up on the 21st June 2019 as fell in love with it on first sight and I have to say pictures just don't do it justice IMHO. What drew me to this version of a DSOTM is the fact it is much thinner then the others at just under 14mm achieved by using a hig...

Hi all, I've had my Pixel 2 since December 2017 and put it in a Spigen case from day one and it is still unmarked and as new today, I have never used glass screen protectors as Gorilla glass is more than tough enough for how I treat my device. Also IMO the days of needing to upgrade our devices ever...

@amckiwi If only having a chip mod and nothing else I would agree on looks alone they should not be able to tell or at least it would be highly unlikely but as even this minor mod usually involves a upgraded air filter and that is a mod that needs to be reported maybe not safe after all and it would...

Hi mainman, Lastly just a heads up don't forget if you do go down this route that you will need to let your Insurance company know exactly what you have done or risk in the event of an accident them not paying out claiming invalid insurance due to modifications. That is not just for your car but als...

Hi all, I also stumbled across this video and thought a lot of it was strange at first but it seems it was not Tudor at fault at all but the Manger of the well known AD and his actions that have reflected badly on both Tudor and his company. This AD is quite a large group and I doubt that Tudor whom...

Re: Anyone picked up or planning to pick up the new iPhone?

Hi all As someone that used to work in Mobile Industry specialising in Mobile Data I used to get equipment to test and demo with for free from Ericsson and others. Back in those days even top end phones were free on a reasonable monthly plan and just a 12 month contract. Then came the £200-£300 top ...

Hi all, Yes I watched both the MotoGP race and then the F1 it was a good day for me watching my favourite sports. I'm going to be upfront I really can't stand whiny Vettel and haven't since his dominant Red Bull days but he sunk to a new all time low IMHO with his actions in this race. Not only did ...

Hi Mike. I always used to use Norton but in the end found it started to slow down my computer and I hated how expensive it was getting to. I now use and have been using Windows Defender for free for a long time now and have found it works as well if not better then many paid for solutions out there....

Re: Someone made a quick profit flipping the Hodinkee VC watch

Hi all, Unless it was the dealer that bought the watch and flipped I seriously doubt the original owner saw any profit and may of been lucky enough to just get his money back out IMHO. Most dealers seem to work on about 40% markup from what they buy their stock in for and then re sell it at from wha...

I was once told by a well respected and experienced watch dealer that it is really easy to make a small fortune in watch dealing you just need to start with a large fortune.

Hi andy, Couldn't agree with you more and as for my own one off use I can only blame the folly of youth as it was some 30 odd years ago and is most definitely not the sort of behaviour I would either encourage or applaud far from it is the case. @james80 Some people are wise enough to stick another plate on their road car if they take it to a track day so no social media pictures get the attention of any insurance companies that a road car they insure is racing around a track on various track days, as for some reason they seem to not like t...

If you are found out to have not kept to the NDA no more SE's or special treatment and invites f...
