Re: Modern Cars Do Nothing Leave Me Cold

Audi's Virtual Cockpit does a much better job. I just bought an S3 to use a daily driver and looked around for one without the VC. I spend enough time looking at a computer screen, I don't want to look at one while I'm driving. The analog gauges look much better IMHO. I'm all for analog gauges. Loo...

Re: Modern Cars Do Nothing Leave Me Cold

I'm a fan of the F10 M5. You get the analog gauges, and they're a real bargain at about $45k. I drove a regular 5-series from that generation and it drove like pig. Don't know if the M5 of that generation does better or not. Worth a test drive if I can find one. Test drove the F90 M5 last weekend, ...

Re: Modern Cars Do Nothing Leave Me Cold

Those are so engaging and rewarding to drive - they have a steering wheel !” Yup, I fully expect that my kids will be one of the last generations that learns to drive a car. I doubt their kids will ever need to learn to drive. That being said, I'm shopping for a new car as my E90 M3 is getting long...

Re: My new to me ///M

Your kids got carsick in the M3? I've always regretted not buying an M3 I looked at years ago. Thank you for that carsick comment. I'll move on and regret not picking up a 928. Eh, I think it depends on the kids and how you drive. My kids have been riding around in my M3 for 7 years without a probl...

Re: Watch taste maturation... has this happened to you?

Despite having way too many watches, I find myself wearing only a couple in recent months (Daytona + Tuna). They just both have the right mix of comfort and utility for me. But I don't think my tastes in general have changed much over the years of collecting (39-42mm, black dial, dive/pilot). At thi...

Re: Time to test Omega warranty

Many jewelers and watch repair shops have a demagnetizing machine. You can call/email to ask. Last time I asked them to do it, they didn't even charge me. Takes just a few seconds.

Re: Damasko DC 80 - Player 2 has joined the game

Wasn't this movement mod (or a similar one) said to be "coming soon" from Damasko for a long time?

I remember looking at it around the time the L5100 was discontinued, but the movement and watch never materialized.

Keep the SD4k, Speedy, and GO (just for a change of pace).

Re: Sonos?

Sonos is user friendly, works well, and easy to setup. However, for the sound you get, it's quite expensive. You can get a lot better sound for less money if you're willing to run wire. Sound bars don't give you the best sound (issues with stereo separation and quality of speakers, since they are sm...

Re: Saw Valarian last night

I don't get how it moved so fast between levels tho... Yeah, that part confused me also. The first time through I thought that there were actually two creatures, one on the upper level and one below. Maybe it jumps down the elevator shaft or something. Perhaps something that got cut during editing?

Ep3 Zygotes monster was creepy AF.
Agree.

Many times the movie creature disappoints.

But in this case, you look at the creature and think, "Man, that thing is just wrong. Whoever thought of that has some serious mental problems ..."

Re: Saw Valarian last night

Trailers look amazing though. The trailer visuals looked pretty. Weird(ish) aliens, space ships/stations, CGI effects ... seen them before. What the trailer didn't have was any kind of chemistry between the leads, or even believable actors for the leads. No drama. No excitement. No humor. I'm waiti...

Re: Black Breitling.. what are my options?

One of my favorite Breitlings (next to the Navitimer World GMT). Super Avenger Blacksteel Chronograph LE (~45mm): A bit of a necro-thread ... but that is the Skyland LE, not the Super Avenger. The Super Avenger is larger (48mm I think) and has some red hash marks around the minute chrono sub-dial.

Re: Saw Valarian last night

Saw Valerian last night.....it was like Avatar meets Tron with a left turn at Star Wars illegitimate little brother's house. Great looking but certainly not great. At all.... Trailer did not look good, and casting of the leads was very perplexing. However, re Star Wars, the Valerian comics pre-date...
