Re: Luminor crown operation

I just watched that video and see where the confusion comes from. Whoever made that video doesn't know how that crown guard works. The leaver on the guard compresses the crown into the seal, creating a watertight fitting. By turning the crown while in the locked position you are causing friction bet...

I work in film industry. The last few years, I've been travelling constantly with work, so that is one of the reasons I haven't been able to keep up with the watches.

SAS and Mileata closing

Hi Guys, I have some bad news, SAS and Mileata is closing. We had 15 lovely years making watches, and I have really enjoyed the entire journey. We had our ups and downs like any company but its the good times that I will remember. I would like to thank everyone here on DWC for your support over the ...

Re: Doxa is in real trouble

I had a look at Maranez website of those Doxa designs, and reminded me of the drawings I did on watchuseek 16 years ago. I remember remember Doxa weren't too happy that I came up with the turquoise Numa version years before they thought of it. [emoji1787][emoji1787] https://www.watchuseek.com/thread...

Re: OCEAN7 RE-LAUNCH

Great to see Ocean7 get a new lease of life. I did a lot of work for Mitch in the early days and met up a few times over at Basel.

Good luck with the company, i hope it goes well for you.

Re: Dave (Demo) Helped A Fellow DWC'er Out

Thanks guys.... and thanks Matt. I've been in the Dive watch world since 2006, and have been a fan long before that. I've seen a lot of guys come and go on the forums. It is really great to get to know fellow watch fans and make friends. Matt is one of the long time good guys on the forum and very ...

Re: Because DWC members know their shit: Motorcycle questions - what to get for my first real bike

I've just read down through this thread, it's very interesting as I'm also thinking about getting a bike. I've seen you guys reccomend all sorts mainly Japanese or European bikes, but very few American bikes. I dont remember seeing any suggestions for Indians. I presume they are not really starter ...

Re: Global slow down...

I’m sorry, Graeme, but that math is making far too many assumptions for my brain. I have to think those who have died may have died fairly quickly, while those who have not yet died may very likely recover. An 11% mortality rate is only accurate if time freezes now. A 4% rate assumes all remaining ...

Re: Global slow down...

Hi guys. I dont want to alarm anyone but I've been looking at the figures and my earlier post where I said the mortality rate was around 4% worldwide is wrong. That 4% is based on the amount of people who have died out of the total amount of people who are sick. But that does not tell the proper sto...

Spain has just gone into lock down. No one can leave their homes except for essential supplies and to go to work.

France will be next and I think if France locks down I think Germany will too.

Re: Global slow down...

Here’s my thoughts, which you are free to take or leave as you choose. It’s correct that, right now, the mortality rate is predicted to be at about 1% worldwide. Of course, we don’t really know, but let’s say for the sake of argument that’s correct. The swine flu (H1N1) is instructive (and it’s wor...
