That dial font is tragic. Great looking watch otherwise.

Re: Speaking of Bremont - Argonaut

It’s nice, but I just don’t get internal bezels on “diving” watches. Internal bezels work well when diving. What don't you like? Unscrewing and turning a crown to set the bezel, then having to screw it back down. Im assuming this is done right before jumping in the water. I don’t dive (hardly ever)...

Re: New Laptop/Tablet

For commuter purposes and mainly being a consumer of content, rather than being a creator of content, I would save some cash and go with the standard iPad with wifi only. I commute a ton for work (plane mostly) and the standard wifi iPad with 128GB of memory is about $400. That is a ton of space fo...

Hopefully that bleating sound I was getting when opening a browser tab for DWC will go away ;)

The DWC motto would seem to be mostly aspirational :bootyshake:

I want to be able to add a photo that I just took with my phone, not spend 5 minutes fucking around with another photo app.
It's a shame that the forum can't just automatically resize.

Re: Disabling Tapatalk

So if I delete my imgur pic will the pic delete off of the forum? Yes. Your post is pointing to your image on imgur. If you remove the image from imgur the image will be broken on the forum. So what is the difference between “copy link” and “copy post link”? The first copies the link for the page t...

Re: Disabling Tapatalk

I tried TT for 30 mins and deleted it.

Ages back I registered my own domain and pay for it to be hosted, so I can put my pics on there. Costs me about $20 a yr and gives me complete freedom to store all my stuff and just link to my pics on forums.

Re: another Hodinkee collaboration: seiko alpinist

Nice watch.

One weirdness is Hodinkee saying that the compass function only works in the Northern Hemisphere. WTF??

Silly me keeps assuming Hodonkee knows what it is talking about and being surprised when they clearly don't.

Re: Seiko MM300 - Bracelet or Strap?

I usually use the Seiko rubber from the BFK. Works perfectly on land and as a dive strap. http://www.wellnet.com.au/pics/Seiko%20SBDX001%20rubber%202015-02-15%201.jpg http://www.wellnet.com.au/pics/Seiko%20SBDX001%20Rubber%202015-06-06%201.jpg http://www.wellnet.com.au/pics/Seiko%20SBDX001%202015-03...

Re: New Citizen Promaster Aqualand

that watch confuses me How so? It's actually pretty trick. Time, 'charge level' for the solar movement, and two depth gauges: current depth (the colored arrow), and max depth (the pointy one). Gotta know the max so you can calculate proper decompression. Also has an alarm if your ascent / descent r...

Re: No date watches

How could you not know what day it is? If you work exactly the same 5 day week structure every week its easy to track. If your work flow is less structured or goes across weekends its not always so easy. The same as those people who say you don't need a watch when you have a computer in front of yo...

Re: No date watches

I really like Seiko's set-up with the day-date on the dial. I don't sit on a computer or my phone all day and I use my watch for information.

I can look at paintings on the wall, or the scenery if outside, when I want to see pretty things.
