Re: Gavox Avidiver Mini Review

Good looking watch! I think the inner triangle works the same as most internal bezels on dive watches (except the Aquatimer's which remains water resistant without screw down), but I agree with you that it is a very handy feature, and a lot more fun to use than a standard rotating outer bezel. He e...

Re: Grand Seiko diver thoughts

Lugs seem to have gotten some inspiration from the SubC, which isn’t a bad thing IMO. Everything seems to get compared to the Sub eventually...but I'm not seeing that in the lugs  The lugs are wide, but not so boring as a sub's. The bracelet, however, is a pure omega rip off. Its similar t...

Big fan of these :-) Close to the perfect dive watch IMO
Totally agree Carl. And looks great on that rubber strap. Can you share where to source it online? :salute:
Its a Hirsch Pure. The dive pics show it on a Hirsch Extreme. Lots of places carry Hirsch straps.

Re: Chevrolet Corvette or Ford GT ?

I thought Ford were picky about who gets a GT. My understanding is you can't just walk in and buy one.

Like HapaHapa says the Corvette is more suited to daily use, whereas the GT is a pretty niche vehicle.

Re: Diving Osprey Reef in Ozzieland

Awesome stuff – definitely gonna check out Moss' straps. They look great. Also, what camera did you use for these images? Really great. Its the Panasonic Lumix LX-100, also rebadged by Leica as their D-Lux 109. Its an advanced compact with a three/fourths sensor. Panasonic do the body and Leica do ...

Damn - I REALLY miss diving in clear water. During the day. Without a ton of gear ;(( Your pictures are amazing. Love the eel and barracuda   Thanks ;) I have a couple of mates who like to dive dry-suits and I just don't get it. Unless the conditions require it, why would you want a...

Diving Osprey Reef in Ozzieland

I set off to see the outer reefs of the Barrier Reef to the north east of the Australian continent. Its an over-night journey to the Coral Sea heading out from Cairns. The story is that the bleaching and ocean acidification have been hammering the Barrier Reef and I wanted to see if before a nationa...

Bit of a mash up; Zodiac-ish case, (awkwardly) reversed Eterna markers, and a Breitling bezel. Not sure it really works for me.

Re: Spinnaker Watch's Fleuss Automatic

I regularly use my dive watches as redundant timers when diving, so there are a few conditions that are essential IMO. An offset or protected crown, a properly indexed working bezel, a screw-down caseback.

It's amazing the number of micro offerings that fail on those basic things.

Just read this... Apple has argued in court that iPhones are only guaranteed to last one year. https://www.techly.com.au/2017/09/15/apple-in-court-iphones-guaranteed-one-year/ Isn't this just a definition of the warranty provided? It doesn't even say iPhones are only designed to last one year... It...

Using a Google phone (Nexus 5x).

Half the price of the flagship Apple and Samsung stuff with regular Android OS updates from Google keeping it up to date. Don't really know why I'd pay double for not much extra.

Thanks! We are one victim short of 100K. Where do we find him. Any chance you could get rid of the writing on the crowns? What depth can the internal bezel be used to? Crowns are changing a bit to make them easier to turn, I think the writing will stay. I dont know specifics on the depth you can ch...
