Re: Shogun vs Pelagos

I'm going to go the other way and vote for the Shogun, but I'm hedging my vote by saying the Seiko Shogun is probably a better watch to use while diving. I am not saying the Seiko is a better watch. Yes, the Pelagos has a better bracelet, but I don't wear a bracelet diving. I wear a rubber strap or...

Re: Need a laptop

My daughter has a 13" ASUS ZenBook that she seems to love. Does have a touch screen though. I'm not totally opposed to one but I just don't really want/need it and that option seems to really add a lot to the cost Yeah. I admit to seeing touch screens as superfluous too...but they are actually more...

The bigger issue I have is when the date isn't well centered, whatever time it arrives!

Re: Aquadive going down also?

I wish I saved the screen capture of the Google street View image of their US location. It was a very modest home in a rural area of a southern state. I hate to see any business go under, but it does make sense. They didn't seem to expand their designs beyond their core theme (from what I noticed -...

I do remember them forgetting to put a lume pip on the bezel of their first dive watch.

And being told to "be the wolf!" by one of their inner-circle-jerks as a response to criticisms. LOL

Re: Thoughts on the Bremont Supermarine S301/BK

I agree with Joe. The biggest problem the 301 has is that the SM500 is better looking and has a proper dive bezel. No diver ever needed lume. Lume requirements are in the ISO and desk divers love it, but I have never needed it in my entire dive career. If you are entering an environment that is low-...

Re: Worn & Wound story on ISO compliance isn't ISO compliant :-)

Technically then even their MM300 or Tuna doesn't have the full 60 minute marks, but is in their Professional line, but the Sumo does. Yup. The Solar Chrono and BFK are compliant too. There doesn't appear to be a pattern. http://www.wellnet.com.au/pics/Seiko%20SSC021P1%20Rubber%2005-05-2012%201.jpg...

Re: Worn & Wound story on ISO compliance isn't ISO compliant :-)

What about on the monster? What do you use as a visual clue for the 43, 47,28, 32, 17 minute marks. Your interpretation seems to only support my conclusion that it is a poorly written spec. One could easily argue that using the dial minute marks is sufficient to determine that minute mark your on t...

Re: Worn & Wound story on ISO compliance isn't ISO compliant :-)

He knows I agree with him re the Seiko Monster bezel. It's not compliant. Actually we don't agree. I'm saying that the Seiko does meet compliance because the vagueness of the spec allows for interpretation that not every minute has to be marked. Fair enough. I don't think the ISO is vague. I think ...

Re: Worn & Wound story on ISO compliance isn't ISO compliant :-)

Juan and I have had this discussion before. I'm not sure why he is acting like we haven't. He knows I agree with him re the Seiko Monster bezel. It's not compliant. Seiko have 2 dive bezels; the 62MAS style (as used on the Turtle/SKX) and the fully indexed one (as seen on the Shogun). Like the Subma...

Re: Worn & Wound story on ISO compliance isn't ISO compliant :-)

The spec is very poorly written. A minute scale does not necessarily imply that every minute must be marked. Reinforced by the fact that it only states that every five minutes be clearly marked. A track that is clearly marked every five minutes is still a minute track. They should hire someone who ...

Worn & Wound story on ISO compliance isn't ISO compliant :-)

Worn & Wound talking about ISO and DIN compliance when making tool watches. All good, until they quote the old dive watch ISO instead of the current one. http://wornandwound.com/making-a-tool-watch-a-basic-guide-to-iso-din-and-related-industry-standards/ I posted a critical comment suggesting they c...

I've not heard anything. My Supermarine has run flawlessly and is the most accurate mechanical in my collection.
