Re: New Coffee Set-up

There seems to be a different coffee culture in the US than in Oz - you guys for more the drip style coffee. We tend to go for stripped down versions of the Italian Barista style coffee machines. I use this Breville and love it. https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/81YD-1hGtGL._SL1500_.j...

The original is still of the best dive watches ever made IMO.

This is that watch with some upgrades...there is very little not to like

I actually like the Navigator...but then there is the usual micro-watch bezel disease.

Broken record, but I wish he’d deviate from those lugs.
Yup, and the unprotected crown and partial bezel indexing. UTS arrived at a formula and are keeping with it.

Exposed crown, 3/4 of the bezel unindexed, dial markings too small. Ain't no-one using that as a dive watch.

Re: ARES Watch Company

An issue with all metal bezels is it's low contrast with the indicies. I found the same thing with the sbbn017 Tuna and Sinn U1.

Re: Thoughts on IPTV?

No one should suggest that using a VPN is in any way doing something wrong. It's also not nearly enough if you truly want to hide your activities. Check into browser and system fingerprinting if you want to get a bit uncomfortable about how much tracking is going on. And I'm not talking about the b...

Re: Thoughts on IPTV?

A VPN is basically a smoke screen to cover your tracks on the internet. If you need one then you aren't in the best place to be. That's like saying I must be doing something wrong if I close my curtains at night. Wanting privacy isn't wrong or suspicious. True. But when you are having to ...

Re: In the North of Bali for some deeper dives

So rad! Diving near Ahmed? Also, what's your camera setup for those macros? Great stuff! We were north of Ahmed, but we did pop down there to do what ended up being a drift dive with strong current on the day. Camera is a Panasonic LX100 (also released as the Leica D-Lux Typ 109). Both have the sam...

Re: In the North of Bali for some deeper dives

Awesome! We spent 10 days at Wakatobi dive resort not too far from Bali for our honeymoon. Your photos bring back some great memories. Great reef life in that area. Are the lionfish becoming a problem there? There are a few but I don't get the sense they are in plague proportions. We get them here ...

Re: In the North of Bali for some deeper dives

Awesome photos. 75 meters is getting there. What was your deco obligation and were you diving wrecks or walls? The 75 was to recover a lost camera from a previous dive. We found it pretty quickly and had nothing to hang around for so the deco was tame (profile below). It was on a wall. Using 17/35 ...

In the North of Bali for some deeper dives

Took a trip to the north eastern tip of Bali for another diving holiday. Its a bit dark lower down so less chance for pics. Its also hard to manage camera equipment when you are running extra tanks. I was wearing the SBBN013 half the time, though it does tend to get left behind on deeper dives as wi...

There were some guys locally (in Oz) that have designed self-tapping hives. The stuff literally puts itself in the jars ;-)
