Yep, this is a big reason why I'm cherishing my 2201.50 D.

Fishy stuff on Reddit
There's an Omega FS on Reddit, offered as a vintage automatic. The dial of the watch says automatic, but the pic of the movement that has no rotor sure looks like a manual wind. Hmmm. https://www.reddit.com/r/Watchexchange/comments/19dwvg8/wts_1947_omega_automatic_watch_ref_25823c_cal_351/ https://p...

Thanks, Mike. One thing's for sure, I'd be the most boring guy at a GTG. I mean, who doesn't go to one without a suitcase full of watches?rockmastermike wrote: ↑Sat Dec 30, 2023 6:55 amEverything you need in a watch collection right there. Sold three watches today to a local guy in a face to face deal, watches that I like but seldom wear anymore, so what's the point? I would add that it was a pleasant meeting. Gone are: Marathon GSAR Certina Super DS PH500M (orange dial) Glycine Combat 7 Vintage What remains are: https://live.staticfl...

Here's one for Omega Seamaster. I especially like it since I own the watch.

Re: Someone school me on roasting coffee
I've been a home roaster for more than 15 years. Started off roasting with a Fresh Roast, but eventually graduated to a Behmor 1600, which has more capacity than the Fresh Roast and also has a smoke suppression system that makes it possible to roast indoors with so little smoke that it can be handle...

Vintage watches can be pretty nice. Vintage smart phones, not so much.

Re: New Omega Seamaster
I just don’t understand why they won’t give us a modern 2254 style. I hate the skeleton hands. Agreed. I’d love solid sword hands and a different bracelet. I was just going to post this. I'm not sure why they're so stuck on the bond version of the SMP -- the version that nobody liked back in the da...

Had one done last month, but I'm due for a repeat in October. i was worried that Medicare wouldn't cover another one so soon, but it seems I'll be getting another free dose of Michael Jackson joy juice.

And even then, it’s not a sure thing. Don’t do it. Agreed. The first two “photos” appear to be photoshopped (note the sharp lugs and grainy appearance) and the case side photos show very rounded and over polished lugs. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20230504/cf2a5e4cdf4c8fe5b56f28363069f8ea.png h...

Re: Cape cod or polywatch to remove scrateches on Acrylic crystal?
Cape Cod is more of a chemical polishing product than an abrasive one. I've heard that Cape Cod can be detrimental to seals if it seeps into them, so I'd be very reluctant to use it on a crystal.

I've heard of charge backs done with PP f&f. The seller probably figured that kind of transaction was worry free, but now he won't be able to get PayPal to intercede on a deal that violates their terms of service.

Re: Any recommendations for an inexpensive one watch winder?
I'd go with the Boxy Watch Winder. It's modular, so you can add additional winders to work on the same adapter. Has 3 settings for TPD and can rotate CW, CCW, or both. I have a couple of the Boxy winders on the same adapter and they work well. https://www.amazon.com/Boxy-Sharing-Stack-able-Package-A...

Don't care for a 24mm lug width on a watch that size. In that price range, I'd rather go for a GSAR.

Re: Source for SMP link?
Have you tried calling Omega? I've found their prices are generally the best. When I ordered links for my 2201.50 Planet Ocean through the local boutique, they were relatively reasonable, $45 each. I also used them to order an adjustable clasp + the parts to make the modification to my PO bracelet. ...

I'm in the Google ecosphere. It should only be a matter of time before there's an Android version, hopefully with the same call screening capability as my Pixel.
